I’ve been using henna for about 8 years. I was lucky to try this brand first. I was using the dark brown for years but eventually that stopped working for me because I developed a few silvers around my temples and the dark brown doesn’t have enough henna to cover silver well, especially resistant ones. I switched to mahogany but it was always a bit too red for me and eventually I went back to regular hair dye for about 18 months. It was awful. My hair looked damaged and dry and the colors always looked fake after using henna for so long. I tried 2 other brands of henna before coming back to henna color lab mostly because I didn’t think there was a color here that worked for my preferences. I was totally wrong and so happy I came back. The blend of alma powder + henna + indigo is so much more healthful for my specific hair. When I use any of the hennas from this brand, my hair is super soft and smooth and it makes my 2b/2c waves so beautiful , defined, and smooth. It also seems to seal my split ends. My hair always looks like I just came from the hairstylist when I use henna color lab henna. Now for this color, wow. I’m disappointed with myself for not trying it sooner. IT IS PERFECT. It is a beautiful, shiny chocolate brown. It is ever so slightly warm as to not be cool but it is much more of a neutral, rich chocolate, I see no reds but it is not ashy or cool either. I have olive skin and this color is perfect, it’s my hair but better. 1 application for 2 hours covered my resistant silvers around my face- there aren’t a lot but they are right at the front so it’s obvious when they are missed or turn orangish which happens with most hennas. The silvers are ever so slightly lighter than the rest of my hair, like highlights. If you didn’t want that, you could do another application for just an hour and be good. I really love this color and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants less red in their hair. This shade also covers the grays the best of any henna I have tried on a single application, most require 2 or you have orange highlights. With the experience I’ve had with henna for the past 8 years, this color and brand are the best I have ever found. I will probably do my roots every 3 weeks just to keep the richness covering the silvers (they really wash me out:( but only pull it through my roots every other time. My hair is shoulder length and I used about 2/3 of a bag to do my whole head. There is probably enough to do my roots so I think 1 bag every 6 weeks is probably all I’ll need. Also the detox mask was excellent as a pre-treatment, it left my hair very shiny and clean to prep for the henna:)

I started getting gray hair in my 20s and I’m barely into my 30s now and I’m not ready for that! I have been using “Natural” Instincts for years but it had started making me very itchy and feeling sick, fingers swollen even though I wear gloves – I knew it was toxic and causing allergies but I didn’t know of a substitute without the chemicals. Somehow I came across henna, but I was a little intimidated because people made it seem so hard to use. But then I found this company that makes their products so easy and straightforward to use. I did several colorings in a row to cover my roots and get a nice color all over. My natural color is a nice medium brown with some red undertones so I feel like the Henna based color is perfect. I did have to color the gray areas 3 times to get them the same color as the rest, but my hair feels healthy and my scalp, face and hands are completely free of itching, burning, and swelling. In fact, my hair and head feel good! I am so excited that I can color my hair and not be risking an allergic reaction. I try to use natural products anyway, eat natural foods, etc. so this is just another way I can do that as well.

I am severely allergic to the PPD found in most permanent hair dyes so I was platinum blonde for a couple years until my hair started breaking off. I decided I wanted to try and get back to my natural dark blonde so figured it’d be easier to grow out my natural color if I covered up the blonde. First I “filled” in the blonde using the light brown shade, which made my hair very red. Next I used this medium brown which gave my hair a beautiful chocolate shade. It covered all the splotchiness in my hair as well as blended my roots perfectly. I was actually really surprised at how beautiful and even it turned out. It’s been two months and it has faded to a lighter color, but it is still very beautiful and natural looking and I’m really over the moon about how well this fixed my hair situation. I’m about to touch it up with the medium brown one more time before letting my natural color grow back. So grateful to find a product that I’m not allergic to and that actually works and doesn’t fade weirdly. It definitely takes more time than regular hair dye, but I’m fine with that considering it doesn’t send me to the ER and leaves me with soft, healthy, beautifully colored hair. Thanks so much!!

This is the only HENNA product that I am not allergic to. Perhaps because this is true HENNA and true natural product !!!!!!! LOVE IT ALREADY and will keep ordering from this trustworthy company !

5* for their CS
5* for Sally in CS and her color recommendation
4* for the smell of the product- however, the company cannot change that
5* for the price/value of the product
Starting hair- yellow level 9, over bleached, hair was stringy/gummy when wet and felt like hay when dry.
Sally recommended: medium and dark brown with full disclosure results were “unpredictable” due to extremely damaged bleached hair.
End result- the medium brown models hair color, just a kiss lighter. Nice balance of warm and cool tones. The integrity of my hair was not compromised at all and health of my hair was actually restored.
8 week post application- It’s now time to do a touch up and my hair is still as soft, shiny, and healthy as it was following the application. It stayed pretty true to color. Maybe lightened a half shade. My hair no longer has the overcooked spaghetti feel/look since applying this.
Closing thoughts: Overall value is good. Gentle on hair. Provides good coverage, even on areas I have gray hairs. Don’t let the smell, and color of the product deter you because the results are well worth it my friend. I found this less messy than conventional at home hair color kits. I do recommended really working it into the roots/scalp and then pulling it through to the ends for a thorough saturation.

Every time I use this henna, my hair thanks me: It’s visibly healthier, full of shine and body with deep color, amazing natural highlights and greater thickness.
It doesn’t pull red or fade out unattractively. I don’t know how it doesn’t leave a line of demarcation at the roots but it doesn’t.
I really only notice I need to henna again when my otherwise skimpy strands don’t have the heft they have with this marvelous formula. Well, I might notice a few strands of grey but nothing this formula can’t cover in one shot.
My hair and scalp both feel conditioned and I get tons of compliments plus healthier and more manageable hair.
And, it’s so affordable, just a few dollars.
Definitely get the coloring brushes to make application easier, faster and more even.
Trust me: You’ll love this color but it’s more than that, it’s a true deep conditioning treatment.
Love, love, love!

What is this witch craft? I don’t understand how this green, poop looking substance turned anywhere close to brown but it did! And it’s beautiful! And shiny! Wow. I loved the experience of applying it. It felt like a mud spa bath for my hair. Disgusting and glorious lol. I enjoy the earthy, herby smell. It wasn’t even difficult to wash out! It came right out in the shower for me. The color isn’t as deep or intense as I thought it would be (medium brown) but it’s beautiful and I’m happy with it. I also didn’t leave it on for 2 hours, maybe an hour or so. I will definitely be using again. And again. Why didn’t I try henna sooner?! The color is such a pretty, chocolately light brown on me. It added some much needed warmth to my hair, but in no way “red” warmth if that makes sense. My hair was suffering from years of being colored with “ashy” tones, so I needed that warmth. Thank you Henna Color Lab! And I love that you’re in my home town!

I have been using Henna Color Labs medium brown on my hair for over two years. For the last few months, I have only been having my husband color my grey roots. I haven’t felt the need to do my entire head for quite some time. The color is perfect and it covers my grey. One of my favorite things is I never have that “just got your hair colored, huh?” from people. It looks natural and my hair is healthier than ever. I also got some of the hair treatments in my bundle. My hair has always had redish highlights so the red to copper highlights don’t bother me at all. Also, the color doesn’t turn to that brassy orange after a few weeks like box color. I always hated that. I’m thinking of trying the dark brown or maybe adding a little indigo next time. Still on the fence about it Henna Color Lab is obviously something I’m sticking with.

My hair is a light/medium brown color, and I just wanted to make it a little bit darker and richer, so I bought medium brown henna dye. I left it on for two hours, and was concerned when it ended up looking very cool-toned and almost black. I emailed Henna Color Lab asking if I could dye it again with pure henna to add some warmth back to it. Sally from HCL responded very quickly that it should lighten within a few washes, and it did! I am very happy with the color now, and will only leave it on one hour next time.
Henna Color Lab has excellent customer service, and the henna dye leaves your hair healthier.

I am thrilled with my first application of Medium Brown Henna Hair Dye. I had a lot of grey roots and overall dull brown hair color having gone 6 months from my last dye job at a salon. After doing the grey roots treatment and then an overall application, my hair is gorgeous and more shiny than it was after a chemical dye job. I am hooked on Henna!
Redhead Girl Forever –
After applying Henna Color Lab’s henna blends to many test areas, including two root applications and one total application, as well as testing harvested hairbrush hair, in the span of three months…and help from customer service…I think I’ve finally arrived at a color that works for me! I was determined not to return to chemically dyed hair. First of all, I am not young with gorgeous naturally colored hair. I am a mature 85-95% gray haired woman trying to maintain a cool auburn color. Then COVID19 took away my opportunities to support my chemically dyed hair routine. Thinking that I could figure it all out on my own, I tried Henna Color Lab’s Ginger Blonde on my gray roots. Not a good idea for me…my roots turned bright orange! Still thinking that I could figure it out myself, I tried Copper Brown all over my hair hoping to calm down the orange roots. Another bad idea for me. The orange roots turned bright copper. My remaining chemically dyed hair was a cool light auburn and this product only enhanced that color with some copper highlights on hair that had previously been highlighted.
Learning my lesson, I contacted Customer Service and was offered some very practical help. Then I started testing on various areas and also on harvested hair. Long story short, the Medium Brown blend seemed to have the potential to somewhat neutralize the now gray again roots and 2″ of copper hair, after reading the reviews, noting the ingredients and researching information on Indigo. Actually, I tested one area with gray roots and copper hair with Indigo alone for 10 minutes, and noticed that it did indeed tone down the copper. But, it’s not advised to use by itself on gray hair. So, having already purchased Henna Color Lab’s Medium Brown, I decided to try it on the gray roots and approximately 2″ of copper hair. (Music & Sighs) After one application, without waiting for the oxidation, I found a color that I can live with! My roots are not orange, the 2″ of copper hair are less copper and a shade darker in color, but still not where I hope they’ll be in a couple of days. I am/was a natural redhead (carrot top) and loved my red hair, but I feel that a cooler light auburn suits me better now. I’m looking forward to seeing the final results in a couple of days. Also, I feel more confident knowing that I am successfully tackling COVID hair (as my husband calls it) while leaving the chemicals behind and enjoying the “new” me even if that means a slight change in color. Healthy hair that is as good as it can be, as close to the color as I had before, is making me a very happy girl!!! Thank you Henna Color Lab!!!

So glad I tried this. Couldn’t be happier with the results. I have been using it for two years now and the color blends perfectly with my natural color and covers all my white hairs.
I was nervous about trying henna for the first time. I had a bad experience with regular hair dye at home and at the salon. Not only did the color look brassy but my scalp itched from the chemicals. When I researched henna it seemed complicated to use. Henna color lab does all the mixing with other herbs so you end up with a natural color. I use medium brown. When I first tried it my hair was mostly grown out from dying it, but I still had some color on about 3 inches at the bottom. The color came out perfectly blended. Love the way it makes my hair feel. I will use it forever as long as I get these same results.

I have used the Med Brown for almost 5 years. The color was wonderful for me until the last year. I guess it’s due to more graying?? Where I’m totally gray (bangs) the color is a carrot orange. Definitely not what I want. I’ve been reading that maybe I need to add some pure Indigo. I will try that and let you know how it goes.

I am totally allergic to all chemical hair dyes after 25 years of use (PPD, PTD and the new Me+). I have struggled for 5 years with hives and redness and lived on antihistamines. I finally quit the chemical hair dyes when my neck turned red and itchy and my top lip swelled, not to mention a horribly itchy scalp. So I have been off chemical hair dyes for 6 weeks and found Henna Color Lab products. I dyed my hair today with Medium Brown following the 2 step procedure for gray roots and overall hair color and IT WORKS! I am SO excited and my stress over having gray hair (my hair is probably 60% gray) and finding a hair color that will work is greatly diminished! I do smell like a hayloft (LOL) but you all say the smell will diminish–but it’s worth it to have hair that isn’t gray and to be rid of the allergic reactions that I have suffered with. The color looks like my regular color, my gray roots are a little lighter but I think with further use of the henna they will blend in more with each treatment or I will add a little dark brown if the next treatment doesn’t add more color to the previously dyed roots. I followed the directions but used a pastry bag to deliver the product which worked out great! And dying tools, brush and big tooth combs help a lot when hair is damp. The henna by Color Labs is a much simpler procedure than other hennas from what I have read. I will definitely continue using the product til I am 90! My hair feels great and looks shiny. So relieved…..

I researched quite a bit before applying the Medium Brown henna to my hair, and it couldn’t have gone better! It was a seamless process start to finish. I started by covering my bathroom counters and reusing plastic packaging to create a little cape. I mixed the henna with fresh hot coffee until a very smooth mixture and then let it sit 40 minutes (not in the instructions but advised with some other henna products). I shampooed my hair and dried it (no conditioner), then added the henna all over, used a cap, and let it sit about 3 hours (or 2.5). The last half hour, I blew my hair dry with a hair dryer. The heat activates the color even more. From what I read, you want heat during application and then cool when rinsing to lock the color in (closing your pores etc.). I rinsed with cool water until clear and conditioned. My color has stayed wonderfully (I’m only a week in, but it looks great!) and is a beautiful brown, covering all of my grown-out blonde highlights. I was nervous about the coverage or if it’d show red, but it’s a beautiful brown like my natural color. My husband said, “Wait…I feel like you always looked like this!” and he was pretty much right!…except for the last few years I had been highlighting lol 😉
It’s a total win and recommendation from me! Very well produced product! Thank you for your dedication to ingredients and your partnerships.

I ordered this brand of henna after having used Lush brand in the past, which left my hair greasy because of all of the added ingredients. My hair has been chemically dyed to a red color a good bit so I was looking to go back to henna to get back to my natural color, but a more pure type of henna. As much as I wanted to love this product it left my hair still quite red. I even mixed it with the dark brown. I followed all instructions 100% and even left it on for 4 hours but it seems like most of the deep color rinsed out after about two weeks, BUMMER! I am trying again using dark brown and black hoping it will deepen and possibly not fade so quickly. It did make my hair a touch darker, and significantly healthier feeling so that’s a bonus!

My hair and scalp are so much healthier since switching to this henna-based product! It’s more convenient than going to the salon, and I no longer suffer from dry scalp. This product does a great job of covering my gray (although my naturally gray hairs turn out a slightly different shade of brown from my naturally brown hairs, they blend nicely and even add some dimension). Do be sure to apply carefully along the part line.

I have a lot of chemical/fragrance allergies..even to grass, trees etc. I had tried using HairPrint (which is an organic color restorer product). It didn’t fully cover my small patches of gray and left my hair wiry and dry. I just used the medium brown for the first time as a root touch up……WOW!!!! My hair looks amazing and feels so much healthier after only one use!!! No allergy to the Henna or the Minty Shampoo. I haven’t tried the treatment yet, but am looking forward to it. I just put in an order for more Henna in Dark Brown and Mahogany along with some samples of the other shampoos and conditioners. It would be so nice to have a shampoo/conditioner with a scent that didn’t cause an allergic reaction. I’m also impressed with how simple it was to use this. It was easy to wipe/wash off skin and it rinsed clean in my tub. I used coffee instead of water per advice of other Henna users and it worked beautifully.

I have been using the henna medium brown since January 2018. As in my previous review, this color is great. Covers my gray, enhances my curls, just makes my hair over all healthy. Carolyns review from April of this year kind of offends me. My reviews are real. Maybe she didn’t do the application correctly? It more than covers my gray hair. I have used this color many times since January 2018, at least 7 or 8, and have never had an issue with it. I’ve used a couple of the conditioning hennas and The Amla one is my favorite. Will continue using! I think I may try another color next time. Maybe light brown? ☺

I have been using the medium brown on my roots only for a couple of months. The first few times I used hot tap water. The color was sometimes lighter or yellower than I liked but still better than grey. I tried a second application and that helped a little. Then I switched to boiled filtered water and I seem to get much better results. I make sure to not have conditioner or product in my hair when I apply and I leave it on for 2 hours. No heat setting after. The color is perfect and beautiful. I apply to my roots every 2-3 weeks and it’s a near perfect blend. I’m extremely satisfied and hope the formulation of this mix does not change.
Carolyn –
This doesn’t cover gray hair, which makes me suspicious of all of the reviews that says it does. I parted my hair on the opposite side, so I could test a section on my gray roots. Bright orange after first application. And I followed directions exactly. I left on 2 hours and even did the hair drying to reinforce. I repeated 2 more times to give it a fair chance as you said it might take 3 applications. 2nd application 2 hours and 3rd 1 hour. It only deepened slightly to a light copper color, still no where close to my medium brown hair. If you must try, only order one package. I ordered 2, so am out $26 on a failed experiment. It says I can return unopened but with shipping charges and 10% fee, it’s a waste of my time

Just did my hair tonight with the medium brown henna, which is my natural hair color. I have lots of gray and had about an inch of growth (all grey). I know it may take a week for color to fully develop, but so far my roots are orange. My hair is soft and shiney. I ordered the dark brown henna to cover my gray better. I’m not giving up because I would rather color my hair naturally than to go back to chemicals.

I bleached my hair over a year ago. I had about 2-3 inches of natural medium brown roots. My hair has been very dry and damaged and I was bored of the color and mismatched roots so I decided use henna to color my hair as well as to treat it and hopefully help it hey healthier. I bought two packages of medium brown dye. I dyed only my blond ends in order to get some pigment back in the blonde. I let that sit and develop for two days. The bleched blonde had trouble keeping the pigment, which I predicted, so I then used the second package to dye my whole head of hair . My hair looked green at first after every dye but after about a day it turned perfect brown and matched my natural hair almost perfectly. My hair feels so smooth and healthy now. And looks very natural.

Well I had very high hopes for this because all of the other Henna Color lab colors have turned out so nice on me. My hair had been a little ombre’d with blonde on the ends, which I had covered with 2 applications of Ginger Blonde, and it was perfect. I followed the directions which say to start at the back so I did- That was my mistake. I did the back and bottom pieces first, and since it took me forever to get every strand saturated, the bottom 3 inches are dark BLUE, with the bottom half having black streaks, and the top and front of my head is more reddish, because I guess taking so long deactivated the indigo a bit? What I should have done is applied the med brown henna to all of my roots first, starting at the top of my head, saving the ends for last 🙁 My hair has never needed extra days to further develop the color.. how it looks when I rinse it out is how it will stay, and I am very pleased to have dark hair again, and the color (where it is not blotchy red/black/blue streaks) is very pretty and natural looking. I am going to have to dye it again, and the next time I will put it on the top of my head and avoid the ends.

i used to henna with bricks from lush until one time i ran out on henna for my hair after only shaving half the brick and i had to chop more & melt chunks in a double-boiler while half my head/application dried. i’m near-sighted and couldn’t wear my glasses to see what i was doing with the knife… it was a mess. i found this company after a search when i needed to restock and decided to try it in medium brown (i’ve been using caca brun). i used to let the lush henna sit in my hair for 6+ hours, but i had a massive headache –thanks to the weather, not the henna — the day i applied this and could only bear to make it 1.75 hours. the color is beautiful. my highlights, which lush barely covered, are now a rich coppery brown. the non-bleached hair is a dark chocolate brown and has a beautiful, bright tone when light hits it. i have thick curly hair that rests on my shoulders and used two packs. i had only a small amount left by the time i was done, so the amount was perfect for me. the henna powder mixes easily with water and i had no application issues. cleanup was also a breeze. i will keep coming back for this!

This was my first time ever using Henna. I have to admit I was scared to death since I’ve never tried it and was used to chemical dyes only. I was so tired of the grays coming through so much that I didn’t want to keep dyeing my hair with chemicals and have dried looking damaged hair. So I decided to give Henna Dye a try. After reading so many positive reviews online on so many sites and all the YouTube videos I’ve watched, it convinced me. I cannot BELIEVE I waited all my life to try Henna!!! This stuff is amazing!! Yes, it’s a bit more time consuming than the chemical stuff, and a bit messier, but it’s better than damaging my hair. I’m so hooked now! It’s been 24 hrs since I dyed it and my hair looks so soft, very shiny, and not frizzy. I have thick curly hair a little under my shoulders and I mixed 2 packs, but only used half, so I guess 1 pack was enough. I’m definitely going to keep using Henna. Amazing how safe it is to use and won’t damage my hair. Very happy customer here! If you’ve been thinking of trying Henna dye, stop waiting and go for it! I’m glad I did!

So…first time with anything henna, and I’ve already repurchased. I did the Nourish and Repair treatment and then a week later did the color with medium brown.
I have maybe 10-15% grey, and don’t mind it, but really wanted something that took my current natural color and oomphed it up. Boy did this do it! My natural color is close to this, maybe just two or three shades lighter, and this gave me a gorgeous very rich walnut color with just a soft hint of red all over especially in the sunlight. It turned my silver greys to golden red so they look almost like individual strands of highlights throughout my hair.
Just FYI for how many packets you need, I have hair down to the bottom of my shoulder blades and used almost all of the two packets of color I mixed up. I just had one packet of the Nourish and Repair treatment and did not feel like I got enough out of it so will be using two packets of that from here on out.
Yes, both treatment and dye have an odor, but I didn’t find it overwhelming or terribly unpleasant…just kind of green and grassy.
I also purchased their shampoo (gets my hair squeaky clean) and conditioner, and between these and the actual henna treatment/dyes themselves, my hair has a shine I haven’t seen in a very long time.
Definitely recommend this!

Highly recommend the Medium Brown Henna Hair Dye. What a terrific experience! This I think will be the 4th or maybe the 5th brand of henna I’ve tried. The results with Henna Color Lab Medium Brown have given me a new lease on life! I could write all the attributes for days but my greatest joy was learning this color does not flake while I’m still applying. I am so glad I didn’t buy the darker brown as that would surely be darker than I care for. Using the 2 step method to cover my roots and rinse and then reapply to my entire shoulder length hair, I had great coverage and depth in the shortest amount of time ever! Cannot believe the first time success and to think I ordered directly from India once believing that was necessary! Ha! If you are skeptical – just go for it! You won’t be sorry! Thank you Henna Color Lab! You are the best!!!

Henna hair dye is awesome!! I originally started using this because I was so sick of the harsh chemicals in traditional at home hair dye. It was so stinky and burned my eyes and scalp. This stuff is incredible. It has a great color and leaves your hair feeling so healthy and full. It also was OK to use during pregnancy, which was a win! It covers up my grays great, and even turns them a honey color so it looks like highlights. It’s a bit of a time commitment with 2 hrs on your head, but not a big deal really. It also doesn’t fade that much or turn orange when it does fade. It doesn’t stain things like regular hair dye either. If you get it on your skin or the counter it comes off fairly easily. So many great things to say about this product!

Absolutely beautiful, rich, deep, gorgeous color. I have been using this for six months and couldn’t be happier. Chemical colors were breaking my hair and causing it to fall out. This HCL product strengthens my hair and produces such a beautiful shade of brown – I love it! I have around 10% gray and it covers beautifully. The root touch ups are so easy too- I just mix up a couple Tablespoons and apply in between full colorings.
Anne –
Finally I found a nontoxic hair dye that is a beautiful color and doesn’t turn my hair to straw. And NOT tested on animals! Used the medium brown shade.

Absolutely fabulous! This was my first time ever doing henna. I was a little nervous but wanted to rid my life and hair of chemicals! I did a lot of research and emailed Henna Color Lab for support. They were fantastic! I did the henna yesterday and I’m absolutely thrilled with the color, gray coverage and texture of my hair.

Ok, all I can say is WOW!!! I can’t believe how great this color is! I can’t believe how natural it looks. I was worried it may be too dark, but it’s a nice, rich medium, not too dark brown. My husband did he application of the pre-conditioning last weekend and did the color today. He took his time, using a hair color brush, started with my gray roots, a small section at a time, then covered my entire head. I left it in the cap the full 2 hours. It wasn’t too hard to rinse, I conditioned twice, (we followed directions exactly) then I blow dried 15 minutes. I love it, couldn’t be happier with the whole process. This color is my natural color, without looking like “oh, you colored your hair”. I have curly, shoulder blade length hair, one package was more than enough, which is great because I bought the starter pack! I already have my boss using this stuff. I am telling everyone i know!! Fantastic, natural, beautiful color. What more could you ask? Thanks!

It was very easy to mix and apply. I used a hair dye brush and sectioned my hair off in very small thin sections to ensure an even coverage. My hair needed two packets since it is slightly pass my shoulders. I would recommend getting a extra packet just to make sure everything is nicely soaked with the product. I have been doing my own hair for over 10 years, I know how to get an even color. However, this left my hair blotchy in most parts. It also dyed my hair a very dark, dark brown that was nearly black. I followed all of the directions correctly step by step and only left it for two hours. My hair was a dark blonde at the beginning so I’m not sure what went wrong. Throughout my hair are red, black, and pieces and some parts that I know for a fact I covered like around my face arent even dyed. The product is very nice and made my hair feel great and conditioned but if you’re actually wanting a medium brown, you wont get it from this shade. I’d say to use the light brown dye instead. I’d also say to get that extra packet so that its drenched and hopefully it will not result in an uneven color. I love this and will be using again, just wish it didn’t dye it so dark and uneven. I can tell that this is a wonderful product though.

The best product for my hair.
Thank you!!!!

I absolutely love Henna Color Lab! This dye is so pretty and always leaves my hair soft and shiny. It’s a bit messy, but using a natural dye is totally worth it. I usually mix one packet of the medium brown and one packet of the dark brown, it always comes out great. I will never shop anywhere else, thanks for the awesome products!

I personally love this product!
The fact that something so natural can produce long lasting results is amazing! It nourishes the scalps and leaves hair soft and voluminous!

I love this stuff. I love the quality and the value. I love the smell. I love that even though it takes some time and effort, I can do it at home, on my schedule. Most of all, I love that I don’t have gray hair but I also no longer have to worry about my 3 year old being exposed to harsh chemicals when I hold her.

I love this stuff! It made my hair grow faster and it helped heal the parts that were bleached. I give it 4 stars because for the first day or two, my hair feels very strange and is kind of stiff. Will continue to use for years to come! Highly recommend!

I am in love with henna color labs. Great quality henna that is very easy to apply after following instruction sheet. Not needing to wait for hours for the color to develop allows me to touch-up my roots often and without having to think much about it. My hair is already on the dark side of brown but I found the medium brown quite dark. After contacting the support, I was recommended to mix medium and light brown and I love it. It covers my white and I get warmer highlights. I have been getting compliments for my hair since I’ve been using the henna color lab henna and I always recommend it to friends.

Update: It has been 2 weeks since using and color looks so natural. Grey’s are still blended. At first my hair had a waxy build up, but I normally use sulfate free shampoos, so I did one good wash with a sulfate shampoo ( I heard apple cider vinegar worked for some too) and the wax feel went away. Hair feels healthy and looks shiny and refreshed. -Jes

I did a strand test with both dark brown and medium brown and decided the medium brown would look more natural and less harsh against my pale skin (especially in summertime). I also left a review on dark brown color results. My starting color was virgin, natural dark brown hair with a few greys. I just wanted to blend grey’s and boost shine. For the medium brown I heated water on stove and mixed. My mixture thickened quickly, so I suggest starting with a thinner consistency. I applied to hair and waited 2 hours. Then rinsed several times with conditioner and blow dried. It felt very silky, although a bit frizzy since I couldn’t use any styling products like normal during blow dry, but did look thicker. Next day, no frizz. The color results is a natural looking dark brown, no weird green or red undertones, if anything subtle golden undertones in sun, but that may just be my grey’s. Most Grey’s covered, some missed here and there. Looks much shinier than before and very natural. I highly suggest if you are on the fence to buy both medium and dark brown to do the strand test! Eases your fears and more affordable than trying to fix unwanted results. So happy with the results, will use again! -JJ

I applied this yesterday to cover my grays and some ombré highlights that had turned coppery on my mid-back length hair. I ordered two packs and used both since I hadn’t tried this before, I ended up with a lot leftover, so I’d say that 1 1/2 packets would be enough for longer hair. The color is beautiful! I have naturally ashy light brown hair and was looking for something a a bit darker but still natural looking, it turned out so gorgeous, and my hair is so shiny! It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet, bur I’m sure it only get better from here! My hair feels great, looks shiny, and I’m very happy I went with this brand, very user friendly. (Just add water) The application can be messy, and the smell is very grassy and strong, but it’s much better than giving my hair a chemical bath. Thanks Henna Color Lab for making this product, it’s great to have a natural color option that works so well!

I would like to make an update to my other review about this medium dye. As mentioned before, I’ve always been using the Color Lab wine henna, and wanted to get back to my natural hair color, or close to it. When I first did the medium brown, I could still see some red to my hair from the fading wine henna, and thought I may need a second or third application of this brown to get the red out. But wow! It’s been 24 hours and the dye turned brown, very close to my natural hair color in one application. This is amaing 😀 It blended my roots so well into the rest of the hair, and there is some red in the light, but it looks just like a very muted highlight adding some gorgeous warmth to the color. Color Lab’s henna is so amazing it has to be witchcraft haha. Even though I’m back close to my original color, I will continue to use this henna because it leaves my hair so soft and shiny. I have very long hair and nothing conditions it with such moisture like this. I will continue to use this color as a hair mask once a month. Thank you Color Lab.

I’ve been a happy customer for almost a year now. My natural color is a medium golden brown, and I’ve been dying my hair with Color Lab’s wine henna for the longest time. I then decided I wanted a change and try to get back to my natural color, so I chose their medium brown to do over a fading wine red. It didn’t get completely to the medium brown with just one application, however, it did get it to a brownish hue with gorgeous warm red tones in it and almost a caramel color to some of the gray strands in my grown out non-colored roots. It’s not fully what I was going for, but understandable it would probably take a couple of applications to get back to my natural brown, but it’s so rich and beautiful and blended my growing out roots so nice with it, than it was with the fading red I had in there. As always, the conditioning their henna gives is the best I’ve ever used. And I’ve tried almost every henna out there. Nothing compairs to Color Lab. It’s magical. I can’t wait for my next application!

I applied colorlab medium brown for the first time last night, and my hair came out perfectly! This was my first experience with using henna, and I was a little worried about how the color would come out. I watched the video on the site, and that was very helpful. It was so easy for me to apply, and the gray was amazingly covered quite well! I also thought it would be messy, however it was actually much more manageable than traditional box hair dye, since the mixture was nice and thick. I will definitely continue to use colorlab!

My honest review…not bad, but could be better. On the pro side, the sift is very fine and it was easy to mix. My hair felt very soft and healthy after use. Also, not too expensive.
On the con side, the color is meh. It’s a very mousy brown, too heavy on the amla I think. It covered up my natural red undertones and made my hair look dull and flat. I have thick, healthy Asian hair with a natural ombre from the California sun and the dye diminished my natural color. While not terrible, the results were rather dissappointing. The manufacturers mix the henna and the indigo together and require a hot water mix; but the proper way to prepare henna is to steep it overnight to really bring out the color. They should have kept the herbs separate so you can have more control over the final color. Also, they tell you to blow dry but don’t tell you that heat will darken your color, so if you don’t want it darker don’t blow dry it.
Finally, the included gloves are a JOKE, they will shred after about 5 seconds and you’re better off with medical gloves. But if you’re going to market a deluxe product, include some decent accessories in the kit.
I know some people like the color but still they should build in some adjustability. So I’m not going to say it is a terrible product, but really a B-, C+ on delivery.

So I was nervous about this at first but took the plunge and I’m glad I did it’s a bit time consuming but well worth it for the health of your hair it looked like I got it done at a salon and it was soft the only complaint I have is that it smelled like cigarettes and gave me a headache.

This is such a beautiful shade! I started with light brown HCL but over my naturally medium/dark roots it didn’t do much. So I tried this next and it’s perfect. I only have a few white hairs to cover and it did beautifully. I’ll definitely use this again soon. My hair is soft, shiny and the roots blended very well. I’ve used henna straight BAQ henna for years but grew tired of the orange glow. This has a red hue in the sun but doesn’t scream red. Just perfect!

WOW! I’ve been dying my hair since I was 14 (many, many, many years now….) with chemical dyes and can’t believe how amazing this henna worked. I have mousy brown hair and like it to be a richer, darker brown. With chemical dyes (both permanent and semi-permanent) I was always battling a red tint (from the developer) and it damaged my hair to the point that I just stopped coloring for a while. The new growth was ok but a bad color and the old damage was a frizz fest. Finally after trying dozens of products for damage I decided to try henna. The first time was ok but kind of reddish and not great. The second time I used med brown and it came out nice but too red. The next day i used indigo to try to get rid of the red and – WOW – it totally worked. I have beautiful dark brown (the indigo darkens it) hair with no red and it’s shiny and healthy. For the first time in years – I have good hair! I’m a henna girl for life! Thank you Henna Color Lab!

This is my first time using Henna and many of my friends tried to stop me from trying because they said it dried out and ruined their hair. I went with my gut and did it anyways. I first washed my hair with the sample bottle of geranium/lavender shampoo that I ordered with my henna. My hair is a medium brown and I stuck with that color because I wanted the benefits of henna, not so much to dye it. Mixing it was a breeze…I used my leftover hot water from my teapot…also, it was filtered water. Mixed it with a spatula in a plastic bowl into a pudding/paste. My hair air dried a bit and then my husband applied it to my head, starting at the the back with the roots to tips and moved forward, piling the pieces on top of my head. It’s good to get some good gloves beforehand….like everyone says the gloves they give you are like paper! Also, i put some vaseline on my hairline and the borders of my ears to prevent dyeing. The application took about 20 minutes…it didn’t make too much of a mess and smelled like green tea matcha. It’s best to have someone help you apply it because the thickness makes it tricky to know if the hair is saturated in the back. Kept it on with the hair cap provided(which was very helpful) for 3 hours. Then i rinsed it with warm water first and then applied a thin conditioner(Trader Joe’s SPA, which is mostly herbs…no protein). I used maybe 3 squirts and my hair rinsed clean…it wasn’t difficult and the water turned clear after 20 minutes of rinsing. I used an old black t-shirt to dry it in case the dye was still lingering. Didn’t wash my hair for the 48 hours recommended. My hair went from a very dark brown to a dark brown with auburn highlights. After a week and 4 shampoos later, my hair turned a nice…very even toned chocolate brown. My hair is shinier, stronger and healthier. It did not remove/relax my curls and instead defined them and made them come to life! Couldn’t be happier! The green tea smell isn’t bad at all but it lasts for about a week. The entire process was a bit intensive but it was well worth the effort. Love henna and cannot wait to try the different treatments! This company and their products ROCK.

Ok. Wow.
Let me start off by saying that I was having some damage to my hair from a stay at the hospital. I normally have box dye my hair. I have blonde hair that I dye brown.
I know how much box dye damages your hair, so I was looking into more natural options. I don’t understand why more people are not using this product to color their hair.
I did alot of research. As my roots were blonde and the rest was brown I know I’d have to do it multiple time. I did the process exactly like the instructions said. I had to do it twice. I can’t the color I wanted without harming my hair. This is an amazing product! !

After years of using cheap box dyes on my fine, thin hair, leaving it damaged & frizzy, I decided to go the natural route. Colorlab is the first Henna brand I’ve bought, and I’ve used it for almost two years now. I LOVE it! However, without the harsh bleaching or synthetic agents in it the dying process/outcome is quite a bit different from dyes. It took a year of me using it to see the best results as my hair gradually became healthier, & grew out.
I used the dark brown up until now, but wanted something a little different. This medium brown is gorgeous! Like most of the colors, it does have some red to it, and is more of a chocolate/chestnut, with hints of red as another reveiwer mentioned. But the red is very subtle (which I like, red doesn’t really suit me), and my hair feels and looks GREAT! Bit of a messy process & has to sit for two hours, but smells better, no allergic reactions & doesn’t turn my hair to straw. I also use Shea Moisture products, which are minimally processed & all natural, and the combo has been great.

I ordered medium brown and the color turned out fantastic, full coverage on my white hair.
The color has some chestnut red tones that mellowed out after a week or so. NO burning of the skin, no itching and no dry hair problems after treatment. The best part is the creamy texture of the paste which I think makes it easier to handle than conventional hair coloring. The instructions were excellent and I covered the plastic cap that is included with a foil type conditioner cap you can get at the dollar store that helps maintain warmth. I left it on for 2 hours and blow dried the cap every 15 minutes.
I am another hair color allergy sufferer that used to get huge weeping hives on my neck from coloring. Last year I cut off my hair and decided to go with my 75% pure white hair which is pretty. It also makes me appear to be much older than my age. I finally got fed up with people calling me “dear” and “honey” and “young lady” with a wink and a smile. People just look at the grey hair and see old, so thanks to this product I don’t have to endure that prejudice. I never would have imagined your hair color could impact how people perceive you, but it truly does. Glad I gave this henna a try and believe me, I will continue to color my hair until I feel like being treated like a little old lady. I may be a lifetime customer 😉

So to fully apply this review I need to explain what finally brought me here.
I have had very long hair (to the back of my knees and I am 6ft) for a very long time. Needless to say with hair that long there comes a point where it is more a burden than a beautiful asset, which of course it is, but I was having headaches, neck pain etc. So about a year ago I decided to make a drastic change. I cut my hair to my lower back and decided to dye it. This is the beginning of the most horrible experience of my life. I get the color burgundy applied to my light brown hair. It fades in a month and turns copper. I did not like this at all, so I turned to YouTube and saw a Kool Aid trick. I actually really liked this and loved that for 20 cents I could get a very pretty red. Loved it. However I had to return to natural colors because of my job. I went to a stylist who was highly recommended by a friend to try to remove the Kool Aid and give my hair a beach body wave perm. The perm is what I was really there for not so much the Kool Aid Removal. This is where the life of my hair really had a horrible turn. All this took place 2 months ago. This stylist applies bleach to my hair… all of my hair (the Kool Aid was only at the ends) starting from the roots and working down. As he applied I did not actually know it was bleach, he never told me. But once I came up from the bowl my life was ruined. Or that’s what it felt like. I was so distraught with disgust my hair was this dreadful yellow, felt like straw, and I actually had chemical burns from the bleach being left too long. And they let me leave like that. They said they were closing and that they would fix it Saturday, 2 days later.
Saturday comes and their idea of fixing it is throwing in several shades of brown and blonde and even red (they kept saying rustic) because the Kool Aid did not come out, so the solution”add more red!”.
All in all the whole ordeal was the worst experience of my life. I hated my hair, I was burned, sad, disgusted. At this point the only thing I could do is just wait a few months for it to be okay and able to dye my natural color again.
That time came today. 6/12/16. I have been looking at henna for a while and I almost went to the generic bag of regular henna and I was just going to mix it myself. I am glad I used color lab. I found it through YouTube and I have not regretted it. I ordered 4 packs one extra and 3 for the length of my hair. I actually ended up using only 2 and a half packets, the rest I put in the freezer for a later date. I did a spot test of the back of my hair and the color was so beautiful I decided to go ahead and do my full head of hair now rather than waiting til the end of the summer.
I just washed it (conditioner only) and blow dried it. I cried upon the reveal of the color. It is right back to my natural color and I honestly thought I would not see it unless I chopped off all of my hair. It is soft, strong, there are no signs of the damage from previous dye jobs, it smells good (personally I loved the earthy scent, though I did add just a bit of almond to it for scent, which did not really make a difference) I am in love with my hair and it has only been a few hours upon the reveal. I love it.
I will say this. There is a deep green earthy tone. It looks almost like mud. I do know this will alter over the next few days, so I am not worried and if you experience this too, do not fret. It will oxidize and be beautiful, promise. If you are applying to bleached hair I would either suggest a second treatment because there is a deep coppery look to the bleached blonde parts that are only seen in the sun or light, which I like personally, but if you decide you do not like it I would suggest another treatment or another color. That is up to you. I personally love the way my hair looks and I honestly wish I could show you some before and after photos so that you all can be relieved with me. If you are thinking about henna, get henna through color lab. It is amazing and I promise you will not regret it.

Amazing product ! I’ve been using it for 5 months & my hair keeps getting healthier. Regular hair dye damaged my hair, it was constantly falling out. My hair doesn’t fall out using this product. My hair is getting thicker, stronger and softer. I always felt sick after dying my hair with regular hair dye, that doesn’t happen using henna. I couldn’t be happier with this product. I just wish I had found it sooner. Thank you !! Customer for life….

I ordered the medium brown at at first I thought that it was too dark. After about a week it became this gorgeous chocolate brown with copper highlights (those used to be gray/white hair). My natural color always had copper highlights so having my “natural” hair color back at 36 is such a treat! I started going gray at 24 years old and have been coloring ever since and started to accumulate an allergy to the hair dyes. I started using this after doing hours and hours of research and I am so thankful I did! It covers all my gray without chemicals! I am so happy. My hairdresser reamed me out for using henna (obviously SHE didn’t do the research I did) but I’m going to keep using it because I know it’s just making my hair healthier 🙂
Alicia –
It worked and it completely covered my stubborn gray hair! I used medium brown, but it actually turned out A LOT darker than I was expecting. I was hoping to stay lighter, but I’ll just have to transition lighter now (which isn’t a huge deal because…… it covered ALL my gray!!!) I carefully followed the instructions for covering gray. After the first application on the roots only, I was a little scared it wasn’t going to cover because a lot of gray was still there, but when I did the second application on all my hair, it covered.
I bought 2 packets as my hair is just below shoulder length, and I still have some left. I will order light brown next time and just use the leftover to gradually transition the roots as it grows out. I’ve been dying my hair for years and even professional dye was starting to damage my hair and I was worried about the chemicals. Well Color Lab…. you have a lifelong customer now!

Best henna I have ever used! I have long brown hair with 20% gray and this henna turned my gray a nice copper color, which I am okay with seeing how rainbow henna brand usually turned them green. My hair is right above my navel and 1.5 packets was plenty for my normal hair. I mixed my powder with coffee and left it on for 3 hours and rinsed with HCL lavender conditioner. My hair is soooo soft and the earthy henna smell subsides after a wash or two. I will continue to purchase this henna until my grays are out of control 🙂

My natural hair color is dirty blonde that looks strawberry blonde in the sun. I hadn’t dyed it in about a 2 years and I was starting to feel kind of bored with it, but I’ve switched to organic hair products and didn’t want to saturate my hair and scalp with horrible chemicals. I love dark hair so I went with this medium brown shade, and I LOVE it. My hair is wavy, thick, and probably about a foot and a half in length.
I used one packet and mixed it with:
2 tablespoons of sea salt (I heard that this can help the indigo bind to the henna pigment better)
2 tablespoons of Amla (to cool down the red tones and keep my wavy texture)
Enough hot water to make a pudding-like consistency.
After letting it sit for 10 minutes I started applying it with my hands by combing a section out and rubbing a glob into my roots and another glob down the shaft. I began at the crown and moved towards my bangs, then gradually all around my head down to the nape of my neck. After completing each section I twisted it to help disperse product and then piled it on top of my head. I applied the cap and then put my turbie twist on top of it. I slept in it for about 6 hours with a towel over my pillow for added precaution. Washed it out the next morning. Beautiful chestnut brown! Extra tip, keep a wet washcloth or towel nearby to wipe your skin as you go.

I have been going to the salon and dying my hair for over 15 years. I’ve gone from blue tips to purple highlights, bleached blonde with black underneath to a combination of blonde and auburn highlights. To say the least I forgot what color was even natural for me anymore. In addition to the coloring, I dried and flat ironed my hair several times a week causing heat damage as well. I recently decided I wanted to go back to one solid color as close to my natural as I could. My sister had just recently discovered Henna Color Lab and I was blown away by her hair after she used the pure henna. I was a little hesitant about the results I would get considering her hair was red and completely virgin….never been dyed and hardly ever been blown out. After consulting with a representative through the 800 number I purchased the Hair Treatment Henna along with the medium brown henna since it was close to my natural. I used the treatment first and was amazed how it evened out the color which at the time had bleached blonde and red highlights. I waited one week and applied the medium brown. Result……AMAZING!!!!!!! My hair feels as if I never dyed it at all, so soft and fluffy. It took half the time to dry and flat iron it after rinsing the color out. It will require one more treatment of color to completely rid my hair of all the highlights but I was aware of this when I started the process. I would recommend this product to anyone trying to get away from the chemical processing. I will never use anything else on my hair and can’t wait to start playing around with combining colors to create a custom color for myself. From the help I received when I called, the quick delivery and the amazing product this company does everything right and I look forward to continuing business with them. I have already placed my second order. Thank You Henna Color Lab for a job well done!!!!!

My hair is about 80% gray, my natural color is dark brown. Been coloring my hair for 20 years. Last year I decided to let it go gray. When it finally all grew out I hated it but didn’t want to go back to chemical color. Looked and looked for a chemical free color and found Henna Color Lab. Ordered both medium and dark brown. Followed the instructions to the letter. First I did the conditioning pack, waited a week and then used medium brown. I couldn’t believe it! My gray was completely covered and I had golden brown highlights all over my head. A week later I colored again, still using medium brown. Now my hair is a rich, gorgeous brown with lovely dark gold highlights, especially noticeable in the sun. I love the color so much I decided not to go darker. I don’t find the henna any more difficult to do than regular chemical color and I would rather smell the earthy scent than inhale chemicals. This is a GREAT product at a fair price and I will never suffer with gray hair again!

I’m sooo happy about this! I was so scared that my hair would turn out horrible haha but I’m glad I took the leap of faith. The color is pretty much exactly the picture.
I started off darker ashy blonde with some platinum highlights and have thinner, longer hair about chest height. No instantly noticeable change is texture or thickness, but I’m hoping that will change after my hairs had a break from being abused. I ordered 2 packets but only ended up using 1.
It is messy though, but well worth it 🙂 THANKS SO MUCH! ITS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED <3

I have tried several different brands of henna, and THIS is by far the MOST EFFECTIVE. Color, protection and conditioning at its FINEST. I have been using this brand of henna once a month for the 6 months or so and my fine hair has gotten significantly healthier and stronger. Very pleased with these brand. Thank you!

I just colored my hair with the medium brown henna last night and I am already in love<3 For a long time, I was coloring my hair dark brown with the boxed dyes you buy in the store. I was sick of the damage those dyes cause, so I stopped dying my hair for a good year and a half and then cut off all of my damaged/dyed ends. Then, recently I had learned more about henna. I started doing my research and found that henna, along with other herbs, does wonders for your hair. So, I took the plunge and tried this product. It definitely doesn't smell nearly as bad as those chemical dyes. As a matter of fact, I don't mind the smell – it smells kind of like this wheatgrass powder that I have. Anyway, application was easy – I didn't make a mess anywhere besides the sink. Let it sit for 2 hours (warmed up my hair once with the hairdryer for 5 minutes after about 45 minutes in). And then I rinsed, which I found to be pretty easy. I just washed a few times with conditioner and within 15 minutes, it was all out. Then, I dried my hair and oh man, my hair was the softest and shiniest it's EVER been in my life!! Loving the gorgeous medium brown; it's just what I've been looking for all along. I love it so much that I've already ordered more, plus some of the hair treatments 🙂

I haven’t seen my natural hair color since I was 13 am now 23. I have spent years trying every color of the rainbow in my hair, and have gotten really good at it. I even have great ways to counter the damage done to the hair. However, over the past year and a half, I have made life changes, and gone through the process of eliminating harmful chemicals and toxins from my life. Hair dye was my last step. naturally, it was the hardest for me, since I have to embrace much more natural colors and forego radical color changes. But I really was in love with how healthy henna is, and found Henna color lab with their many hair color choices, and took my last step. I had chemically treated light blonde hair, and used the medium brown, to attempt to get close to my root color. The smell was grassy/hay kind of smell, and thicker. I smeared it thoroughly through my hair and wrapped it up in saran wrap, then a big towel. I took a blow dryer to the towel every 30 mins, and I actually left it in for 4 hours. Then I ran my head under the faucet, not touching the hair until the water ran semi clear. I used conditioner to get the rest out and finally let my hair air dry. Ohhhhhhh, my hair was the prettiest red brown, and felt so soft. The color was even, and over the next few days seemed to deepen. My husband even commented that my hair is the softest it has ever been, and so shiny. I personally think there was too much red in my hair, so I will try dark brown next, but I am never going back to chemical hair dye again!!! Thanks so much HCL!!!
Katherine –
My hair is naturally a medium ashy blonde, and I haven’t chemically dyed it in at least two years. I followed the instructions and left the henna on my hair for two solid hours. The result is pretty close to the finished color pictured above for blonde hair. I love it! The first day it was more red than brown, but after 3 days the indigo has seemed to oxidize more and now my hair is a rich chestnut brown with some lighter red highlights where my natural platinum blonde highlights were before. The henna was easy to apply, smells earthy like hemp, and left my hair feeling stronger and thicker than it was before. I will definitely order from this company again!

I love this product. My hair is just starting to go a little gray at the hairline in front and on the sides by my ears. I cannot use chemical hair color as I am allergic, and have been trying to convince myself that I will love going gray naturally. Not so much, it turns out. I am so happy to have discovered Henna Color Lab and their great line of henna. I don’t find it at all hard to apply and have had great results. I love my hair again! Since I have just started to notice more gray, I apply to my hairline rather thickly and then kind of comb some back into the rest of my hair. This seems to just add a bit of dimension to the color on the rest of my head (a natural medium brown with some red tones) and then the white around the hairline blends in. I cover with saran wrap and a small beanie hat and usually stretch the time out to 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending upon my day. I do use the all natural shampoo and conditioner, too, and feel like my scalp is not so dry this winter. Thanks!! Keep this product coming!

After having surgery my scalp became super sensitive. . I couldn’t color my hair as i had dome for past years. I did some research and order some henna from this website. .i have to say that the fist 2 trys didn’t work good but still
cover some of my white hairs.. the reason was because i wasn’t adding the water
hot enough. .lol but now at my 3rd try i love it . The first thing i notice was the shine
im so completely satisfied and i recommended it to everyone that wants to try it..
this time I’m ordering the natural henna I’ll let you know how it goes. . Previously
i used the light brown. .. thanks

I had been dying and highlighting my hair for years. It finally reached a point where my poor hair was breaking off as soon as it hit my shoulders. I’d forgotten my real color, so for the past year I’d let it go completely natural. Turns out, I’m a dishwater blonde with about 35% grey woven in. I was really okay with it, really, so I thought. Until I met a complete stranger, lovely woman really, who said, “your face, it looks so young, but your hair!” Wow! That made me think again about my all natural hair! I knew I didn’t want to return to color and highlighting; it had proven a real hair wrecker for me. My hair was finally healthy, aging, but healthy. I began researching henna and was so happy to find Henna Color Lab. The professional looking website, clear instructions, and valid information drew me in. I researched the colors available and am so happy with my choice. I will never go back to color/highlights again. My hair is shiny, it looks thicker, and the color is absolutely stunning! It’s a beautiful medium/light brown with some lighter golden highlights where my grays were. My daughter was so impressed that she too has given up on salon visits and ordered her first henna color: Mahogany. We did her hair yesterday and she’s in love! We both followed the easy-to-use directions, leaving the product on our hair for the full 2 hours. Thanks for a great product!

Thank you so much, Henna Color Lab! I was very skeptical that I could actually dye my hair brown using only plants. Two weeks ago, I applied it to my roots (I’m about 2% gray, but it is all in the front of my head-bangs and sides) and it didn’t work the way I expected it to. The grays were a light blondish color. I followed all directions, but think that I added a bit too much water AND didn’t apply a thick enough layer…basically user error. Also, the thick layer of dye is important for me because I have fine, curly hair that sticks up at the root and doesn’t lie flat, so it has to be like a helmet on my head to cover those hairs that are sticking up. I tried it again the next night, making it thicker, applying a thicker layer, and leaving it on for 4 hours and it was AWESOME! It finally looks like my natural color, which is medium to dark brown. All of my gray roots are a nutty warm brown color. My tip is to follow the directions, make sure you put a thick enough layer on (if you have curly hair like me), and leave on for 4 hours. I wrap my head in plastic wrap and then wrap a long scarf around my head so I don’t look so hideous. I just dyed my hair again last night and am so happy with the results! 4 hours is a long time, but for me, 4 hours worked so I’m just going to think of it as a spa treatment for myself every two weeks!

I have been using Pure Red Henna from here for over 2 years and got lots of complements, got rid of frizz and made hair feel so healthy. However I was tired of the Red and wanted to go back to my natural color which is dark brown. This Medium Brown is amazing. No more red and all my Gray hair is just a lighter shade of brown than my natural hair. The key is to MIX and USE right away and you will get brown hair not red. If hair is dry and/or damaged it might turn out darker than brown and more black. I use heat every 30 min and keep the mix on my hair for 2 hours. Thank you Henna Color Lab for this mix. I also tried the Dark Brown on a strand and it was a bit too dark for me, really almost black. Very happy and thankful for this alternative to chemical hair color.

I have waited 6 months to write a review for Henna Colorlab. This is the best henna I’ve ever used. I have dark brown, naturally curly (3a/3b), shoulder length hair. I have quite a few grays and I’m extremely pleased with this color. I tried the dark brown henna first, but I prefer the medium brown because it seems to work better on my grays. They come out a very dark red, almost burgandy color. Doing a henna treatment is quite time consuming, as I like to leave it on for 4 hours. After applying the henna (btw, there are youtube videos with tips for applying it), I like to wrap my head with saran wrap, then put the shower cap over that, then a knitted beanie and leave it on as long as possilbe. I rinse it with Shea Moisture conditioner and then leave in a little conditioner and let it dry naturally. I do wait a day or two before shampooing or co-washing and I do not use any product on my hair until after the first shampoo. One thing that really seemed to work is after double washing my hair to prep for the henna, I sat outside and let my hair dry in the sun before applying the henna. I think it really opened up my hair shaft and the henna was able to absorb really well. I do recommend their tea tree shampoo as a prep wash. I love that it’s all natural and it really does strengthen my hair. It also seems like I have a lot less hair fall since I’ve switched to henna. I really love this company and their products are fantastic! *I also highly reccomend the Amla treatment for curly hair, it’s simply amazing!!!*

I can not say enough good things about Henna Color Lab and their Henna! I have never loved my hair as much as I do now. I have 80 percent Gray roots with natural curl and it covered in 2 applications for me. I have used this henna and the Light Brown for 3 months now and my hair is noticeably thicker and curls have more form with less frizz. I will never use toxic hair dye again . Plus, I love that you are here in the a Pacific Northwest which is where I live! Thank you Henna Color Lab you have a life long customer in me.

I cannot describe how much I love this hair dye!!! My SIL helps me apply it (she went to beauty school) and it leaves the most beautiful, rich, natural color I’ve ever had. It conditions my hair amazingly (it’s never been so soft or even air dried nicely) and I feel like I have new hair. I’ll NEVER go back to chemical dyes. I searched this out as a nursing mother who wanted a natural option.

Easy to follow directions, great packaging, super fast delivery and a fantastically helpful staff…can it get any better? YES! It did!
After an allergy to PPD, I thought I was going to be stuck with grey hair. I started out with chestnut brown hair, which was dyed over previously colored light bottle blonde, and 2 inches of white roots showing. (I’m naturally 80-90% white).
Daunting, but after following the instructions provided for my situation (one root only application and one full head application), I have gorgeous, shiny, soft chestnut brown hair again. No grey roots! Only this time with no toxins!
Beautiful color, non-toxic, good price, great customer service. Highly recommend this product and this company.
