Ex: Super Thick Curly Hair to Shoulder, Order 2 Packets.
Our Select Harvest™ Henna makes a great base for this color, while indigo and added herbs taper back the deepest red and leave a warm, auburn finish. Your hair will dance between earthy brown and vivid ginger. This color is a lighter cousin to Mahogany and a couple shades deeper than Light Brown.
By mixing extra natural conditioning agents (alma and shikakai), we can stabilize the red & brown pigment release to make a vibrant rusty-brown hue. Once mixed, the two bold colors are resisted just enough by the added conditioners to bind at slightly different rates. And then you have the rich chocolate base, with the rusty auburn-red henna hugging the outside. A brilliant expression.
Our Henna-Based Hair Dyes Are Your Best Choice:
• Organically grown & seasonally hand-harvested in indigenous hearty soils.
• Milled to a fine powder to allow maximum, predictable pigment release.
• Hand-sifted three times to a uniform texture for best application.
• Vacuum-sealed & light-sealed to preserve potency, purity, and freshness.
Always Cruelty-Free. Never Tested on Animals.
NO added chemicals, preservatives or perfumes—just pure natural goodness!
Award-Winning Purity & Quality.
Ingredients: natural indigo, natural henna, red clay, alma gooseberry, shikakai fruit…(that’s it).

I’ve used henna for years but could never get the exact color I wanted. This is it! I absolutely love it ❤️

Very nice! I have 3c medium density, high porosity hair – AA. The color is absolutely gorgeous and the shipping was quick! The color gives a gradient effect. Good quality and I do recommend!

Just a word to the wise: Don’t skip the strand test if you try this color. I already use a mix of Medium Brown and Pure Henna on my mostly gray hair, so I thought this mix would be more perfect… but I got a really unexpected result that looked nothing like the photo! The already hennaed lengths went nearly black, and the white roots came out bright auburn with ruby tones. Yikes! After a month of repeated washing and oiling, it’s toned down a lot and finally stopped bleeding orange on my pillowcases and towels. Because of the oil, maybe? It’s a vivid mix, so be careful out there.

Have left a review before but want to leave another, as I just order the cyber bundle 2020. This is my favorite one, it matches almost what my natural auburn was years ago, I am now 50 and mostly silver/white if my roots are anything to go by, but it also works good on my wiry-curly mixed ethnicity hair. I’ve used it for over 2 years now and will never go back. I alternate it with Nourish and Repair treatment since its also very long and I still have a lot of damage from box dye, bleaches and several rounds of attempting to color strip. No more. I’m vegan and live a healthy lifestyle otherwise, will continue to do the same for my hair. Love you guys!

I finally found my forever henna color! I was frustrated with the medium brown not covering stubborn grays and thought I might need to look for another henna brand. Another review mentioned how much better the Auburn is at covering grays so I ordered and applied it a week after doing my full medium brown color. Wow, the difference truly is incredible. My grays are indeed a rich vibrant reddish auburn color with very few left uncovered. Looks like subtle highlights so pretty. I’m super happy and definitely recommend this formula.

I have been using HCL products for years . I am allergic to commercial hair dying products and came upon henna . There are all kinds of grades of henna . Believe me , I’ve tried them . Henna Color Lab has their colors mixed perfectly. No guess work . Same color everytime . I cant count the number of compliments I’ve gotten on my hair color . I use 2 . Auburn and wine red . My hairstylist came up with doing 2 to give me a highlight look . I’ve got alot of grey but naturally dark brown hair . I just cant say enough abt this color , the depth , how natural looking it is compared to the chemical colors . It nourishes and softens your hair . It’s just fantastic . Thank you Henna Color Lab you keep me looking gorgeous !!

The first time I used this it was in the winter and my hair was fairly dark and I loved it! The second time was during the summer and my hair had been lightened which made my hair bright red. Overall a great product but be mindful of how light you hair is! The super bright redness took forever to fade.

Mixed with med brown, perfect for blending greys in my brown-black East Asian hair. 50/50 mix, let it set for an hour and DON’T blow dry afterward. Turns grays into copper highlights and maintains the natural red undertones. Only needed half the amount on the package.

My hair has always been a very dark brown with startlingly invisible-blonde temples(that I’ve ALWAYS thought made me look like I was balding). As I got older, two things happened: my hair went from a warm dark brown to a cool, ashy brown/black, and, at the ripe old age of 28, started sprouting COMPLETELY WHITE hairs that were super obvious and super visible in my dark hair.
On the dark parts of my hair, the dye adds back that subtle warmth I had been missing. On my temples, it starts out pretty fiery and settles down to a vivid auburn after 24-48 hours (pretty much the “after” swatch for the blonde hair. The white hairs? Sparkly, bright fire red.
As someone who has always secretly wanted to be a redhead but didn’t have the cash or the bravery to go through the intense process of going from a darker color to a lighter color, I’m now taking the veeeeeeery long road there by doing it one gray hair at a time! 😉

Wow is this a great product! I have used the Wine Red from Henna Color Lab in the past and I must say the Auburn is a much darker deeper red with hardly any brown tone. It is like a fiery dark cherry color and I seriously can’t imagine my hair a different color ever! I have below shoulder length thick medium coarse hair, ordered 2 packs and have a less than half left over that I am freezing for touch up. Not shabby of a deal! Plus my hair is not as frizzy, my scalp feels great and my hair is healthy healthy healthy. Love this company and this color!

I have very mixed feelings on this stuff. The color is beautiful but it does not cover damaged hair very well and it dries it out like crazy!! I had to go get a professional conditioning treatment done after doing this. If your hair is dry I do not recommend this stuff. It does work, it makes your hair shiny but there was no conditioning effect, it was the complete opposite. My ends feel like a broom and my hair was just getting healthy again (hence the reason I chose this over regular hair dye). It’s definitely not for everyone!

First time using henna, and I must have read thru this site a million times trying to make a decision, hearing horror stories about henna but not wanting to continue with my hair as I had been (bleaches, double process, color removers, etc) taken its toll on my hair. I just jumped in and did it, and I wish I had done it sooner. I’m pretty much all grey down from a natural auburn, and I love the way this stuff covered my roots on the first try, looks completely natural and creates a palette of ginger, mahogany and golden brown tones with the rest of my highlights and natural colors. I also have mixed race hair (Native American, African, Irish), thick, wiry and curly which had thinned and lost its curl, and I’m hoping this will bring it out again. Sold!!! Thanks for a great product!!

I was nervous about trying henna hair color, but this color turned out truly beautiful. I’m natural light to medium blonde. After following the suggestions of the staff and the directions, I had a rich copper auburn color. After touching up my roots the past few months, I can say the original coloring is still bright and rich and the roots blend nicely. I will never go back to box color.
Also, my hair feels thicker and looks healthier.
Thank you!

If you are hoping to achieve brown hair do not use this henna! I have dark brown hair and my hair turned red! A burgundy colour actually! I just so happy to like the colour, but just a warning for anyone expecting anything else!
kenmarieng –
Love, love, love this color! Dark brown hair with a few greys in very noticible areas becomes dark brown hair with beautiful red undertones with no greys! I’ve used it a few times, and my hair is medium thick and the longest layer reaches a little below my shoulder blade, but one packet is enough.

I have been using Henna for almost a year. I love it! I have never had any reactions to it. It last just as long as the chemical box ones do. Light brown or copper brown. Highly recommended!

I have always had the same hair and so I come to the conclusion it was time for a change. To give a little background I have NEVER died my hair. It was always a dirty blonde ombré color, but people had always questioned if I dyed my hair due to the fact that my eyebrows are dark brown—this here was the reason I was confident I would look great with darker brown hair. I didn’t want to damage my hair so I thought that henna was a perfect solution.
I absolutely loved dying my hair with the henna—it was just the most therapeutic process.
I washed out as directed and then blow-dried my hair. As my hair was getting dryer and dryer it was also getting really freaking red and so I just found myself standing in a poop covered (henna) bathroom with my ginger hair. Don’t get be wrong it was a very nice color, and it didn’t look bad on me at all—I just didn’t want red hair.
I rushed to ULTA to consult with a hair stylist about what I could do to help cancel out the red and she said I could try using a teal shampoo but that there’s nothing she could really do to dye my hair the color I would like and that I would either have to grow it out or cut my hair off. LIKE WOW. At this point I really hated myself for picking the wrong henna color. I felt that this could’ve been such a great experience if I had only done a strand test or if I had chosen a cooler (not red, brown). **I should note that I did read that it did does describe the color auburn as a mix between their medium brown and pure henna—WHICH SHOULD’VE BEEN A CLEAR SIGN.
Then I had realized I had accidentally ordered a dark brown hair dye so I said a hail mary and I left that color on for one and a half hours and then vuola… my hair was still red ☺
Just kidding. It was finally a dark/ medium brown and I actually liked it.
A week later I started noticing some more red tones coming through and the ends were turning green (I imagine it is from my job as I am in the pool every day).
So I have come up with my solution. I applied the dark brown only to my roots and cut off my green/ previously blonde ends and finally got the look I wanted.
The product is amazing though I kinda disappointed at how quickly it fades in my hair so that why i’m giving it 4 stars. Also I feel this product works very differently than on blonde hair.

I am beyond pleased with the results and everyone at work loves the way my hair looks. I was using over the counter products before but always felt guilty since I am against animal testing, so I decided to stop coloring and let the grays take over until I found a product that was cruelty free and natural henna based. I saw other henna products but none offered the color choices and heart behind the product. The Auburn is perfect for blending with my natural color of brown with auburn highlights and covers the grays nicely. Will be using this again each time I color for sure!
Lindsey Koppy –
I loved this dye! Had undyed medium brown hair and it turned it very dark brown with a deep red tint. Made my hair SO soft and extremely shiny.

I am in my 50’s and this is my first review. That might tell you how passionate I am about this product. I had been coloring my hair with chemicals for over 30 years and finally my hair just couldn’t take it anymore. I tried more “natural” products but my hair still looked damaged. Only after finding this product and letting my hair “heal” have I been able to realize the hair I was meant to have. I was so scared to use it the first time that I was “shaking.” After I saw my hair, I couldn’t believe how beautiful the color was without the chemicals. I will NEVER go back to chemicals. I got compliments on it immediately. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have a loyal, devoted customer that tells everyone about your product.

What I will say is don’t freak out when you first rinse it off and it looks patchy or dark. Give it time because it literally changes into a beautiful color before your eyes as it oxidizes. I used this on my very light golden blond dyed hair. I was concerned it wouldn’t cover my hair well but their customer service advised two applications and I followed their advice on timings. All I can say is Wow! After the first application it was very red and patchy so did a second and at first freaked because it looked almost black! But having allowed it to oxidize already the color is blending out and the red is pushing through and it is turning before my eyes into the most beautiful chocolate color with deep red glints. So happy I chose this company and color. I have now ordered 5 more packs on their bundle deal and I just couldn’t be happier.

YASSS. I now look like a beautiful penny. I had overly processed bleach blonde hair, but wanted to get back to a more natural reddish-copper-brown state when I decided to try this for the first time. I read about henna extensively and had heard, repeatedly, how difficult, messy, and staining it was. I decided to use Henna Color Lab based on their simple instructions. The packaging was adorable, the instructions were easypeasy to follow, and although it does indeed smell as horrible as everyone says it does, I appreciate that there aren’t any added fragrances as a highly allergic individual (my sister suggested to dab a little bit of Vicks VapoRub under your nose while applying and it makes things more tolerable – worked like a charm!). I applied the henna using a bowl and dye brush, and I found it INCREDIBLY easy and not really messy at all! However, I am also used to using Manic Panic, which is 100x more messy and 100x more staining. So if you have any experience with Manic Panic, using henna will be like walking on sunshine during a lovely spring day (a smelly, smelly spring day). I left it on for two hours, and ADORE how it turned out! It is a beautiful, shiny, deep copper color Honest Abe would love. My hair is SO much softer than before, and the color is stunning. I will be using this exclusively from now on. Totally sold on both henna and Henna Color Lab! Don’t change a thing!

I have naturally dirty blonde hair and I bleached it heavily during the summer. I was afraid that due to the different shades of blonde in my hair that the henna would turn out really patchy. But I was happily surprised with the results! The colour is beautiful, although it was darker and slightly more red/orange than the picture(which I kinda expected because of my bleached hair). After just the first application my hair felt thicker and healthier. However, my hair did turn out a bit patchy but that’s my fault for not applying the henna evenly I think. The smell isn’t pleasant but it went away after my first rinse and I was surprised at how little a mess it actually made. I expected a lot worse. It’s a really pretty colour but I think I’ll get medium or light brown next time because it’s just a little too red/orange for me.

I’ve been using various hair color blends from Henna Color Lab for the last couple of years. Auburn is the third color I’ve tried. The application process can be messy. It has taken some practice to minimize the mess, but I’ve found that using a tint brush helps a lot. This particular color came out darker than I wanted, as some of the other reviewers have mentioned (my hair is naturally dark brown but was a little lighter at the time of application due to a previous chemical dye job). After a month it has settled in and lightened up a bit. Still a very pretty color, and my hair was left healthy and shiny.

Truth is- I’ve never used henna hair dye before. I was nervous and truly very anxious to see the results… ya’ll I wasn’t disappointed in the least! I have plaque psoriasis and have spent many a nights suffering from fevers, weeping scalp, and tremendous itching and pain from regular hair dyes. After using “Auburn” Henna hair dye, there’s not a chance I will go back to regular hair dye again.
The color is dark, with a lot of red- but it worked well for me. It did a great job of covering my grays {one of my biggest concerns}. I will say, the smell was difficult for me to stomach- but worth the end results.
I love the ability to use in multiple stages {as your roots grow out} and that the color will darken upon using {I’ve not witnessed this yet}.
Thanks so much for a great product! I’ll continue to use you dyes, and might try my hand a few other colors in the future.
Sarah –
I have ashy light brown/dark blonde hair, and this color worked great on it! It turned out to be a rich auburn, with a fiery orange-red on my high-lights and some purple-ish tones in some lighting. It’s dynamic, and really fun, while still working in a professional setting. I dyed my hair for years in high school, and this is the best color I’ve ever used. Just a warning: it takes a few days for the color to develop fully after you dye it. But it’s now day 4 and I’m satisfied!
Pros:
Great color
Makes hair feel soft and healthy
Cons:
Very messy- gets everywhere!
Strong pungent smell
Take a while to apply

I love this colour. I have very almost black dark brown hair, and this doesn’t change my original colour much, but in the light the red really shows up. I now just usually do my roots which I find a pretty easy process, and my grey hair is always covered with one application.
Brie –
I ordered 4 packages of auburn in the Super bundle along with a single package of the ginger blonde. I have nothing but good things to say about this product- I used 2 auburn for myself and my mum used an auburn mixed with the ginger blonde.
I have dreadlocks, there for I try to use all natural products if I use anything at all. Ive never dyed all of my hair before, but previously before I used the henna, I had light brown hair with blonde ombre tips. Using the henna, I still have a pretty ombre or gradation from chocolatey brown w/ red and orange tones to a lighter version of the same. At first I was very nervous to put it in my dreads, I was fearing that I was not going to be able to get all of the henna dye out, but it wasn’t all of that difficult. With henna I didn’t have to worry about harsh chemicals or residues of any sort. I’m so in love. Ive never felt so happy with my hair. Ive read reviews that the smell was a bit strong- but it was quite bearable. It smelt like a tea almost 🙂 after dying my dreads with the henna, my hair got redder throughout the next day. I left it in for 3 hours.
Until now, my hair stylist (a family friend of mine) hadn’t seen henna in a while, and I’m glad I could take my henna to her, because it definitely reduced the mess!! If possible, I would recommend doing so.
I absolutely love this color, and recommend henna to everyone. 🙂

Just dyed my hair yesterday and it came out a gorgeous deep reddish-brown color. I had previously dyed it last month with the medium brown and loved it, but I’m now in the mood to add some red hues. This came out awesomely – as of now it’s a bit darker than the picture, but I’m expecting it to fade a tad into a slightly lighter color over the next week or so. Either way, it’s really pretty and it’s very rich-looking. Definitely going to experiment with some of their other colors this fall, namely the mahogany, and probably the wine red to add even MORE red goodness to the hair! Love this stuff 🙂

I have always craved red hair and had an intense envy for all natural red heads. Unfortunately, the only time i attempted to dye my hair with conventional chemical dyes, my hair became brittle and fell out. Recently, I went vegan and in changing over my beauty products to cruelty-free options I learned that henna is vegan and all natural! I looked at several companies and decided to try Henna Color Lab. I bought the starter pack, and chose auburn to start out and pure henna to touch up later. The auburn turned my medium dark brown hair a rich auburn with vibrant red hues in the sunlight. I was instantly smitten. Two weeks later, I was noticing that my hair was bleeding slightly which I attest more to the fact that my city’s water has a very strong chlorine smell/taste too it then to the fault of Henna Color Lab. Also, the first two days after applying the henna, my scalp was intensely itchy. Again, I do not place the blame on Henna Color Lab. My skin is very sensitive so I expected some kind of reaction. I just dyed my hair with the pure Henna yesterday to cover some spots I had initially missed. On top of the auburn, the pure henna is now a vibrant red and gorgeous. I love it!

I’ve been chemically dyeing my hair red for probably 20 years, and I HATE how fast the chemical color strips out of my grays around my face. Lately I’ve been having a reaction to chemical dyes and went in search of a natural alternative. I had my hair chemically dyed a light auburn, so I went with the auburn, figuring better too dark than too light.
My gray roots are a LOVELY shade of bright auburn, but it turned the rest of my hair a dark brown, almost black. Under outside light, though, it all looks dark auburn. I don’t hate the color, but I’m definitely going to try a lighter shade the next time around. I think I thought my chemically dyed hair was darker than it actually was.
Anyway, I LOVE this product! My hair didn’t have that “dry straw” feeling I got after rinsing out chemical treatments – it was soft and silky right from the start! No itchy scalp, no chemical smell, and it really gives nice coverage. I’m definitely buying this again, just a lighter shade.
Hanna –
I rarely ever give negative reviews on products because I hate being rude. I also accept that henna is unpredictable in the way it reacts with every person’s hair color. My hair is a natural light brown with red highlights that I had never dyed before in my twenty one years of life. I decided to add more red to my hair without turning my hair a fiery red. I just wanted to maintain the brown in my hair while adding some red. That is not what happened. Instead of a natural looking auburn I now have an extremely unnatural cool red coloring to my hair. I will repeat again that I have never dyed my hair before and did not expect this result to be so far from what was advertised.
I used the proper temperature of water and made a paste that was about brownie batter consistency. Then I sectioned my hair and applied the paste to every strand. I used the provided plastic cap and waited for exactly and hour and fifteen minutes. When rinsing, I did not use shampoo but only conditioner. Soon thereafter I looked into the mirror and screamed.
I suppose it is mostly my fault because I did choose to apply this dye to my hair, and it did add more red. I just do not understand how my hair turned such a strange shade of red. When buying this product remember that it is not an exact science and funny looking, cool toned red (cool is a description of shade of red). When using this dye, be prepared for a big change even if one was not expected. I am now going to spend the remainder of my night Googling ways to remove henna in a timely fashion.

Henna Color Lab is so fantastic! I have been dying my hair for almost ten years and the most recent bleaching, color oopsing left it with tons of split ends, unmanageable and a very awkward yellow blonde.(Also in the past my hair always grew fast and it literally stopped growing for like three months) The Auburn covered my hair perfectly and reinvigorated it with shine and thickness and by the third or fourth use my hair was growing fast again. It feels so healthy. I only wash my hair once or twice a week and it stays pretty oil free and soft. The auburn has indigo in it so the more you use it the darker it gets, so I switched to the copper which is a little more orange, but nice too. It’s been a month and 1/2 since I’ve colored it and the color is still very vibrant, not like with normal dyes that lose their luster after a couple shampoos. I’m trying the medium brown this week cause I want to return to my natural color, and the henna treatments for the summer. Henna colorlab is easy to use, inexpensive, has fast delivery and is really an all around great product. They also constantly have great deals-so much cheaper than salon or even drugstore hair dye and sooo much better for your hair. If you want a change go for Henna and don’t be scared by the clay, it’s kind of fun to think women have been doing this for thousands of years!

I was interested in lightening my hair color or at leas giving it some form of tint. I didn’t want to try to do this myself so i took it to a professional to have her do the coloring. It did smell a bit but i got over that part. However, after i was rinsed and styled according to the instructions there was no color change :-(. I worked out a couple of days later and it began to bleed which was rather funny because it was streaking down my face. The only downfall was that I didn’t see any color change and i was really looking forward to Auburn hair.
Hale –
Okay, first off my hair is naturally ashy blonde but I always thought I looked better with darker or red hair. It’s been 2 and a half months since I hennaed for the first time and I’ll differentially do it again. The first two weeks it was like the middle after picture they have above which I was not expecting because my hair wasn’t close to the before picture, however I can’t complain because I know the risks of coloring your hair (it may not turn out like it says especially with henna). After awhile the color matured and I’m not sure if it’s because I only kept the henna in my hair for 1 hour and 30 minutes but now it’s more like the middle before picture. I loved the color it first came out as but I also love the color it is now.
My Cons:
For the first two weeks it bled every shower. It bled blue with shampoo and orange with conditioner which I wasn’t too fond of but it’s cool as long as my hair didn’t fall out or turn green. The color bleeding and fading I’m guessing is connected, once the bleeding stopped so did the fading. Which is why I gave it 4 stars but that’s still pretty good.
My Pros:
For as longs as I remember I’ve had scalp issues dandruff, itching, and greasy hair within 12 hours of washing. About 4 years ago I switched to sulfate free shampoos and the greasiness and most of the itching and dandruff went away. After using henna though I noticed my scalp has had zero issues. It feels SO happy now.
My hair is also a bit softer but it’s always been soft. The main thing is the shine. It’s way shiny., like it’s been brought back to life!
The color is beautiful, although it did fade. To make it darker I know all I have to do is another layer of henna and it will build up, which is another wonderful plus.
I love the smell of the henna. I was sad once my hair stopped smelling like it.
Since it’s been 2 1/2 months my hair has grown and the line between hennaed hair and unhennaed is barely noticeable. I used cassia on my hair about 2 months in to help blend my roots in more.
My advice:
Do your research. If you expect it to be EXACTLY the color it shows and are going to be an unhappy camper and complain you should just leave your hair alone.
If you section your hair into small sections with sections on the back and each side and start with the back. Then twist all the hennaed parts into a dreadlock state doing it yourself is no problem at all.
Wait at least a few days before you bawl your eyes out because you hate the color and either shave it off or run the the salon for them to get rid of it. Trying to remove henna isn’t pretty, look it up.
I am by far no expert so I suggest you talk to one if you have questions concerns or problems relating to henna before doing anything too drastic that can’t be undone.
i hope this has helped.
Happy Hennaing. 🙂

I too will NEVER use another product to color my hair again! I am 30 years old and have been dying my hair since high school (just because I like change and also shiny, healthy looking hair). I was hesitant to try this because I was fearful that the years of dying would turn it a funky orange (not what I wanted). I wanted a deep brown/auburn color. I have hair a few inches past my shoulders and I mixed half a pack of Auburn color with one pack of medium brown. It turned out FANTASTIC! The color looks even better than what I would pay in a salon; natural, glossy, and healthy looking. It even made my limp, fine hair fuller and thicker. Love this product….take a chance on it!!!!

I will never use another product to color my hair again! I love, love, love this stuff! I mean shout it from the rooftops, Tweet it, facebook it kind of love! I thought I would have to succumb to the grays in order to sets chemical-free but I’m so glad I don’t have to! I have thick, wavy hair and one application is all I need. I can even apply it easily myself and cover the grays. Plus the color is so rich and natural, and my hair feels amazing (and so shiny!) after I use it. Yes, the earthy smell and pasty application take some getting used to, but it’s so worth it! Not only is the product great, but customer service is out of this world. I used to use vinegar and baking soda on my hair and was worried that it might strip the henna color (it doesn’t) so I sent HCL an email. I had a response so quickly! I also love how fast my stuff arrives in the mail. Thanks for everything! :). Love it!

I love this hair dye! The color is absolutely perfect especially after a couple washes. I’d give it 5 stars if the application was easier and not as messy. However, I am very happy with the finished product and will be buying it again.

This is exactly the look I’ve wanted! I’ve been using the mahogany color for about a year now, and was basically happy with it. However, there is a lot of indigo in that mix, so my hair has been getting blacker and blacker. There is also something about the buildup of indigo that makes my over-40 hair dry and frizzy. I will say that mahogany covers gray hair like nobody’s business. But, for me, it was just too dark. I tried the dark brown, and that didn’t seem to work on my hair at all (very poor gray coverage). So–I decided to try the auburn. It is WONDERFUL! My hair is naturally dark brown, with about 25% gray at this point (I guess! I haven’t seen it in awhile!). Auburn turns my gray hairs an Irish Setter red, and gives my dark brown (and indigo black) hair a reddish glow. There is A LOT of dye in this henna. When I rinsed it out, I was glad to see so much henna-colored water. There is no hard line between the indigo dyed hair and the auburn colored roots, so the red seems to flow naturally into the brown and black. I can’t wait until my whole head is auburn. If you have a lot of gray, I do warn you that your hair will be a whole lot redder than the example photos. But it’s still very natural-looking. The high percentage of henna also conditions my hair beautifully! No more indigo frizzies. For reference–my hair is shoulder length and pretty thick. I used two packets of henna. I usually spend about 20 minutes applying it and massaging it down to the roots. I then use a heat cap for an hour, and rinse (water and conditioner only). 24 hours after rinsing, I shampoo. It took about 5 shampoos to completely rinse the excess henna, and it took about four days for the color to develop completely. I apply henna every four or five weeks and have been doing so for about 15 years. (and yeah, like everyone says, those plastic gloves are useless. Get some nitrile ones from Amazon)

I have med/dark brown hair and after using the Auburn Henna it was significantly more red than I had imagined. I tend to be a bit conservative in my looks; mascara, gloss, done. This brought out my sassy and wild side, which was a welcome yet unexpected change. Love it.

Amazing coverage! I have naturally mousy light to medium ashy brown hair. I have bleached my hair so much, I almost forgot what my natural color was. I started using baq henna on my hair about three months ago. I had a demarcation line between my old and new growth that was about three inches or maybe four inches. The henna I was using (purchased elsewhere)turned my new growth a pretty medium to dark auburn, but the old damaged hair was a very bright coppery color. Not anymore! I contacted henna colour lab about my hair problem. Sally told me to be very careful because henna could be unpredictable and this auburn may turn out dark or not take depending on if my hair had hit the saturation point. I decided to give the auburn a try, because my demarcation line was getting really tacky, and I refuse to use anymore hair dye and chemicals. Wow! It blended so perfectly. It is about one shade darker than my three inch auburn area, but it is hardly noticeable. So shiny and no more ombre! I left it on about 2 and a half hours, so that might be why it went a tad darker. I only applied it to my old growth. I’m in love! I’m now a happy perfectly blended henna head. Thanks to Sally and henna color lab for making a product that does get rid of bleached out/root growth lines using only henna. Sincerely,
Your newest forever customer Brandy

I really love this product!! I have been experimenting with different colors and I really like the color. It was a little redder than I had pictured, but it’s still really pretty. Due to the extra redness, I actually washed the original hair treatment out with conditioner, as advised, mixed with a nickel worth of shampoo, which lessened the red some what, and made it look more like this picture. However, the original color is also very pretty and I would recommend this product to anyone!!

I have naturally curly hair and am very picky about what I use on it. After dying my hair red before and loving it, I decided to try henna. I am so glad that I decided to purchase from henna color lab (instead of trying lush’s bars) because my hair turned out wonderfully perfect, and my curls couldn’t be happier!

My hair feels amazing, I decided to use this product because I have gone shampoo and conditioner free for the passed year and I didn’t want to smear chemicals all over my head when I was feeling sassy and wanted a change (it would completely defeat the purpose of going shampoo free) so I tried this and it gives rich color and highlights, the only thing is that it is a lot darker than I expected. Because my hair is a medium to dark brown naturally I figured the color would end up just adding red tones, but it made it significantly darker, just a forewarning to (as the other person said) definitely check the color guide before you purchase.

This was my first time using henna and I have to say I absolutely love this product! I will never ever go back to regular box color again. That stuff is such a joke in comparison! The color is beautiful, although mine ended up much darker than in the picture shown, so make sure you look at the color result chart before you pick your color. Quite certain I will be using this for the rest of my life!
