How To Apply
This is a powdered specialty hair & scalp treatment, NOT a hair dye.
Before Application: Wash hair TWICE with a high-lather shampoo. No conditioner or style products.
Hair can be Dry or Towel Dry, but not Wet. Wear smock or old towel over shoulders.
*Always perform a strand/spot test before full treatment & read below completely BEFORE starting.
1. MIX & PREPARE
• Use quart size mixing bowl per 3.5oz packet(100g) and a spoon to mix.
• Cover any surfaces that may stain: untreated wood, carpet, fabric, etc. (as a precaution).
• Pour powder into bowl. One packet treats straight, shoulder length hair (approx).
• Add hot, not boiling, water (approx 122º F) gradually to the powder.
Note: There’s no exact amount of water to add. Add a little at a time to get an applicable paste consistency.
Similar to a thick pudding or ketchup consistency.
• Prepare hair for treatment. Divide hair into four sections: Front, L&R sides, Back.
2. APPLY HAIR TREATMENT HENNA
• Apply directly to hair using gloved hand (gloves optional, won’t stain hands).
• Using gloved hand, scoop & apply the paste on back section (if crumbly, add water).
• Massage well into scalp. From root of hair, work evenly to top of hair. Take your time.
• Methodically apply from back to front section.
Optional: Comb through (wide-tooth comb) to increase hair contact with product.
• When done, cover head with included plastic cap. Leave on for 45 – 60 minutes.
3. RINSE & CONDITION
• Rinse out thoroughly (NO Shampoo) until all product removed. Then use conditioner.
Note: Be patient. Rinsing may take a little while. Conditioner will help removal.
Remember: It’s natural, no added perfumes. The paste has an earthy plant-based scent.
You can add fragrance oil or personal perfume to hair after rinsed out.
• Avoid shampooing for 24 hours. Allow natural herbal oils to nourish scalp and hair.
• Use it often (can be used up to 4 times per week)— excellent for hair and scalp.
• Regular usage heals hair from the scalp up. Restores natural moisture & sheen.
• Regular usage will increase hair color retention and duration.

I wanted to love this product but I’m confused by all of the positive reviews. The treatments do not work for me at all, and I’ve tried a few of them. Furthermore they are close to impossible to rinse out especially without shampoo. I’ve taken 3 conditioner only showers and my hair still feels so weighed down, sticky, and flat out awful.

I bought this to give some shine, repair, to my natural virgin hair. OMG. I followed the directions exactly, and I know what to do – I have made many homemade masks – and it frizzle-fried it. It rinsed out very easily (compared to other masks) but made my hair impossible to comb out, and dried it out. I then attempted to “wash” the rest out with a very, very high end natural conditioner. Well, 3 oz later, it still felt dry and tangled. I gave up because the shower was cold at that point. As it dried, it only got more tangled and dry. It did thicken it, to be sure. But it also fried it. I could have used a 20% vol bleach or home dye and had the same damage as this ‘treatment.’ After 2 days, nothing had changed, so I rewashed with a real shampoo and put on a salon-level high end silicone-free treatment, and it’s still dry and frizzy. I am not sure it will ever recover without petrochem in-salon help, which I was trying to get rid of in the first place! It does clean the hair from impurities and it does give it body, but dang, it took an entire bottle of travel Rahua and a whole travel size CR treatment just to get a comb through, and STILL fried, that is beyond ridiculous. I have bra-length hair, not down to my butt or anything. I have nothing against the company and their liquid products are great, so it gets a 2. But beware….if your hair’s natural, it might do like mine did. Maybe they sent the thickening or purifying one instead of the repair/wrong sticker. I don’t know. But I’ll never use one of their powders again. it did have an earthy odor, but that didn’t bother me. The frizz, tangling, and severe drying out of my poor virgin hair did.

Excellent! I actually really like the earthy smell. It didn’t stain anything. My hair also felt like straw immediately after treatment, but once dried was very shiny and felt awesome!

My hair was overprocessed, extremely damaged and falling out. It hadn’t grown past my shoulders in over 2 years due to breakage. Tried so many EXPENSIVE brands of treatments and nothing worked. Stumbled across this, and willing to try anything, I bought the starter kit. I used about 1/4 of the pack and it covered my entire hair. Since I had so much left over I just started “gooping” it on. This is a great non-color treatment. Your hair will feel just like it does if you do a color, the only problem I had was that I did it AFTER doing the wine red color and it seemed to suck all of the red out of my hair, it became a muddy penny brown color. I was really disappointed because my hair had oxidized to the exact color I was hoping with the wine red. I will wait a few weeks and hopefully be able to do the wine red again without it becoming too dark. I recommend this treatment BEFORE you color

I had the most fried hair ever – and I hadn’t actually done anything to it. No dye, no hair dryer, nothing. Just fried. I tried all the things – expensive salon brand conditioners, leave-ins, sprays, creams, DIY hair masks- the works. Nothing helped. Then I tried henna. I have been trying to use natural products and also grow out my hair in a healthy condition. My hair looked and felt great after rinsing this out. My hubby even commented on how nice my hair looked, and he almost never says anything like that. The sift is very fine and I found it was not as difficult to rinse as other henna powders that I have tried in the past. I will definitely be ordering this again and making it a monthly part of my haircare regimen.

I was so so afraid to use a henna product after allowing myself to be brain washed by hair dressers and the media in general into think henna was super bad in every way.WELL THEY WERE SO WRONG!!!!!!!.I have been dying my hair for over 30 years and it finally had enough. I chopped it off myself and it still looked like crap.Using this her treatment JUST ONCE brought life back into it. This treatment was so easy to use! I love that there’s no fussy mixing or curing — I just add hot water really incrementally so I don’t get the texture too runny. It also washed out well with the aid of some cheap conditioner, with no grit leftover. My previously color-damaged hair is in great condition — after two rounds of henna color and this treatment, I have ZERO split ends, and my hair is noticeably softer. I can even go longer between haircuts because my ends are in such good shape.

I used this as a pre-treatment for dying my hair with the wine red henna. My hair was pretty healthy to begin with, never been dyed, but this made it even shinier and healthier! As well, I didn’t wash my hair again for about 48 hours, after which my hair is normally an oil slick, but it was just beginning to feel a little greasy at the end of that time! It must have really cleaned out my hair and balanced my scalp. Big fan of this product, looking forward to dying my hair next weekend!

No difference in hair after using product. My hair is completely fried and melted off for a few months now. I’ve been trying to repair it but It must be too late. I don’t think its a a bad product but due to my hair I think the results were inconclusive.

Amazing product. Let me start off by explaining the torture I’ve put my hair through.My hair got to the point to where it “melted” and turned into what seemed like elastic when bleach was applied (permanent dye used for 10 years). Not to mention the damage from straightening and blow drying my hair every day.
After using this my hair is so so soooo soft, shiny, and all in all just better looking. There was an immediate difference in my split ends, incredibly fried, thin, over processed hair. It has more body, feels thicker and is just awesome. I highly recommend this product no matter the extent of damage. My hair is a medium brown and this did not alter the color. I am very excited to henna my hair next week and see the results!

I bought the hair dye bundle, and just recieved it in the mail. I’m a little sad that I can’t dye my hair immediately, but I just used the hair treatment, and I don’t even mind anymore. My hair has never felt so soft and full. I haven’t dyed my hair in about 2 years but after spending my middle and high school years dying it every 6 months with all the chemical dyes, it had pretty much killed my hair and I’ve been fighting to get it back. I’ve tried every shampoo/conditioner, deep conditioning treatment out there, and none of them made my hair feel like it does right now. I was a little apprehensive using this form of hair products, as I’ve never used a powder dye or treatment before, but I found the instructions easy to follow, and it was an easy application. The smell, to me, was pretty strong; however, I am pretty sensitive to smells, and my mom smelled nothing. I ditched the gloves for the treatment, and after washing my hands even my hands felt a little softer. I’m extremely pleased with everything so far, and cannot wait for next week to actually dye my hair!

Let me just say, this hair treatment henna is absolutely AMAZING. It needs to be said in all caps its that good. My hair was very damaged from over-coloring, and I recently did a big chop to get rid of most of the damage. My hair was a brown close to my natural color but because of the damage it faded to goldfish blonde at the end. Using this henna made all my hair one uniform color!!!! I couldn’t believe it, my hair feels thicker healthier and stronger with just one use!

I bought the bundle set last week, and was hesitant to use the treatment. I have naturally brown hair, but for the past 8 months I have been bleaching my hair to a platinum blonde color. After the last bleaching, I realized I needed to give it a break, and looked into a chemical-free way to color my hair, and decided to go with henna color lab. I just used the henna hair treatment set. It says it will not color your hair (the treatment is a dark earthy green color and smells like alfalfa hay), but (maybe because my hair has been so destroyed perviously) it turned my hair from a bright platinum blonde, to a dark strawberry champagne color. I was weary after rinsing the treatment out of my hair, because my hair felt like straw, and it has never felt like that out of the shower before, but after letting my hair dry, my hair hasn’t felt this soft since before I started bleaching it! I just bought another bundle pack with all treatments to help restore my hair to it’s natural look and feel. Thank you for providing us with such an amazing product. (Despite it changing my hair color.)

I am African American with 4c hair. I had never used Henna before and heard of the benefits, started browsing online for ‘the one’ as my first time. Decided to go with Henna Color Labs. Got the Henna Treatment and the trial Minty Shampoo and Conditioner. Love love love them!! First of all the packaging is awesome, very appealing! Did not have that strong earthy smell that I read about nor did it feel patchy or chalky in any way. My hair felt silky smooth, was very light and airy after. Fewer hairs on my pillow and in my brush, only after one use! Hair is a lot thicker and curlier. My only criticism would be the gloves and shower cap provided, flimsy quality falls way below the superior quality of the products.

I bought this treatment to use before my first henna dye. I used half a pack for my chin length bob hair cut and it was plenty. I followed the directions on pack exactly. The cap that comes in the pack works nicely, but beware that the gloves that are provided will fall of of your hands (they are very thin and cheap) when trying to apply so I used disposable latex gloves instead and they worked great. This product says it will not stain hands anyway, so you don’t even need gloves since it’s chemical free. Not sure if my hair was conditioned or not, but did give my hair a thicker feeling afterward. The henna color I used afterward turned out strong and deep, so this may have helped that. Very earthy odor…much stronger than the henna which is not very strong smelling at all.
