TO SLIGHTLY COOL THE RED IN HENNA:
• add to Pure Henna to tone down reddish hues to a slightly cooler shade
• add 1 rounded tbsp per full 100g Pure Henna packet
• mix both in warm water and let stand 1 hour before applying
PERFECT FOR:
• anybody looking to condition, deep clean, or improve hair (or scalp) health
• colorist looking to cool their Pure Henna or Pure Henna & Pure Indigo mix (will make both slightly more cool & increase indigo uptake)
*Note: don’t exceed 1 rounded tbsp per full 100g Pure Henna Packet
1 packet (3.5 oz/100g) will treat hair to shoulder.
3 packets (10.5 oz/300g) will treat hair to waist.
1-2 tbsp (add little water, mix to paste) for face & skin application: Massage paste gently on face & skin. Wait 5 Min. Rinse.
Note: hair thickness and type (straight, curly, etc) will make a difference.
For super thick curly hair, order an extra packet. Ex: Super Thick Curly Hair to Shoulder, Order 2 Packets.
HAIR APPLICATION:
• mix with warm water to make an applicable paste
• apply liberally to hair with gloved hands (precaution, will not stain hands)
• divide hair into sections and work from scalp to ends of hair
• cover head with cap
• leave on hair for 15 minutes for bouncy, fluffy hair (45 to 60 minutes for deeper detox and follicle treatment)
• rinse out with shampoo
• condition if needed
FACE & BODY APPLICATION:
• Face: mix 1 to 2 Tbsp with warm water to make an applicable paste
• Face & Body: mix half to full packet with warm water to make an applicable paste
• gently apply to face and/or body
• massage in circular pattern (very gently) to accelerate exfoliating qualities
• leave on 5 minutes
• rinse well with warm water
*best used prior to normal shower ritual—leaves skin smooth and toned
COOL DOWN HENNA:
• add to Pure Henna to tone down reddish hues to a slightly cooler shade
• add 1 rounded Tbsp per full 100g Pure Henna packet
• mix both in warm water and let stand 1 hour before applying
STORAGE:
• after opening the package, only mix what is needed
• store excess in dry container (Ziplock® or similar) and in a cool dry place
• will store for 6 months

How To Apply
This is a powdered specialty hair & scalp treatment, NOT a hair dye.
Use full packet for intense overall treatment.
Before Application: Wash hair TWICE with a high-lather shampoo. No conditioner or style products.
Hair can be Dry or Towel Dry, but not Wet. Wear smock or old towel over shoulders.
*Always perform a strand and spot test before full treatment & read below completely BEFORE starting.
1. MIX & PREPARE
• Use quart size mixing bowl per 3.5oz packet(100g) and a spoon to mix.
• Cover any surfaces that may stain: untreated wood, carpet, fabric, etc. (as a precaution).
• Pour powder into bowl. One packet treats straight, shoulder length hair (approx).
• Add hot, not boiling, water (approx 122º F) gradually to the powder.
Note: There’s no exact amount of water to add. Add a little at a time to get an applicable paste consistency.
Similar to a thick pudding or ketchup consistency.
• Prepare hair for treatment. Divide hair into four sections: Front, L&R sides, Back.
2. APPLY AMLA POWDER
• Apply directly to hair using gloved hand (gloves optional, won’t stain hands).
• Using gloved hand, scoop & apply the paste on back section (if crumbly, add water).
• Massage well into scalp. From root of hair, work evenly to top of hair. Take your time.
• Methodically apply from back to front section. Comb through for best treatment.
• When done, cover head with included plastic cap. Leave on for 45 – 60 minutes.
• leave on hair for 15 minutes for bouncy, fluffy hair (45 to 60 minutes for deeper detox and follicle treatment)
3. RINSE & CONDITION
• Rinse out thoroughly (NO Shampoo) until all product removed. Then use conditioner.
Note: Be patient. Rinsing may take a little while. Conditioner will help removal.
Remember: It’s natural, no added perfumes. The paste has an earthy plant-based scent.
You can add fragrance oil or personal perfume to hair after rinsed out.
• Avoid shampooing for 24 hours. Allow natural herbal oils to nourish scalp and hair.
• Use it often (can be used up to 4 times per week)— excellent for hair and scalp.
• Regular usage heals hair from the scalp up. Restores natural moisture & sheen.
• Regular usage will increase hair color retention and duration.

As I get older, my hair is thinning, but this leaves it looking and feeling so full and thick. It also seems to revive my 2c to 3a curls that can get easily weighed down. Love it.

I’m Indian and have loose curls but had never tried this kind of hair treatment. It worked wonders! It was easy enough to mix together and didn’t have a strong, overwhelming scent. After washing it out, my hair felt amazingly light and voluminous – it hadn’t felt that way for at least five years. My scalp wasn’t flaking or greasy from build up; it was healthy and showed. It felt like this for at least two weeks and I noted very little hair shedding over that time as well. I would definitely recommend purchasing this if your hair needs a reset. I’ll be using it from now on!

I haven’t used Amla nor Cassia since the 90s when I were in my 20s. My hair has changed quite a bit since then, from full and wavy to thin and straight with the red now growing in silver. I’ve had the hardest time the past several years finding a conditioning agent that didn’t weigh my hair down, even the natural ones promising weightless conditioning. Well, I’ve found the solution! The Amla paste, which I only kept on for about 45 mins, made my hair so shiny, no frizz and super soft – banished the dry ends (winter time). I’m looking forward to a Cassia treatment this weekend, knowing it also helps to thicken strands. Thanks Henna Color Lab!

Its a shame I cant post a picture of my hair before and after..because the difference is amazing. Buy this product,its fabulous. My hair is full, bouncy, shiny with wonderful curls and loops and ZERO FRIZZ even without gels,mousse, oils etc.

So I have used Henna Color Lab products before, both dyes and treatments. First I used a dye, about a year ago. Shortly after I used a treatment, and then yesterday I used another treatment (I had some left over from the time before) but I stopped using them because I didn’t like how they reacted with my hair. I’m going to attempt to review these products as best I can.
I have extremely long hair, about 4ft long, well past my butt. It’s natural with no artificial color, dies, or chemicals. I take care of my hair due to a bleaching accident several years ago. My natural hair texture is extremely thick, not quite wavy, but very heavy. I wanted to use this treatment to help with frizz and perhaps soften my hair.
Since I’ve used these before, I know exactly how to use these. However my problem before was that henna coats the hair, it’s known that henna helps to thicken. That is not my problem, I didn’t need body or thickness, henna is notorious for this feature. Which is great! It’s just not for me, my hair is naturally thick and long, so this isn’t something i needed.
So I make the mud, put it on the top half of my hair because I didn’t have enough for all of my hair, again it’s very long. The henna makes my hair very sticky, hard to comb, difficult to style, and even difficult to wash. I really want to believe that this is because of the thickening factor of this product, which is why i don’t want to give this a bad review because I know it does work for people. My goal with this review is to kinda let people know what to expect for different types of hair.
If you have REALLY thick hair, I would not recommend the dyes or treatments, or if you do, be prepared to be extremely patient with your hair afterwards. I know these products are the bomb, but like everything else in the world not everything works on or for every one. This is just one of those things for me, but I do not want anyone to shy against these products, just thoroughly do your research and be prepared for an event when using these. I wish everyone luck with these products.

So I received my order very fast as usual, and I applied this product before I went to bed , wrapped it in saran wrap and slept with it all night. I rinsed it out with some conditioner and it rinsed out surprisingly easy ( easier than the henna anyway). Since I was rushing I left the house while my hair was still wet and while checking it out in the car, I wasn’t too impressed. HOWEVER, I just got to work to fluff it up and see what it looks like now that its dry… and its GORGEOUS.. its so full, my curls are so beautifully uniform and shiny. My hair looks darker, thicker, fuller, fabulous! I will probably never cut my hair again, if it continues looking like this! Thanks, you guys are the best, hands down!

By far THE best hair treatment I have ever tried. I’m a “mixed-chick”; Italian and North African, with a varied curl pattern to my hair. It has tendencies to be dry, but as it grows can also droop a little in the curl. Most conditioners on the market are not geared for those of us with “blended” hair types–they’re either too heavy or too light making it very difficult to find the right balance our my hair type. The Henna Amla was my HG moment! After following the instructions, I left on the “mask” for almost two hours–gives you an excuse to hang out and relax on a Sunday–shampooed, rinsed and did a little conditioning just to help with the removal of the product. The results were astounding. My curls burst to life! They’re springy, defined, the areas of frizz are nice and smooth, but the best effect was how full, thick, and bouncy my hair is now. I’m a huge fan of this company’s coloring products, but this was a first time use for their treatments–I’ll be buying them out of stock from now on! If you’re new to this business, I would strongly encourage you to make them a priority for your next hair purchase. Their products are safe, 100% natural…and they do what is promised. I got a perm in my shoulder length hair a few weeks ago, it got so frizzy and damaged it looked like a giant afro! I tried deep conditioning, straightening it, everything. Then I got this and it worked miracles! I fell asleep so it ended up being left on for 3 hours instead of 2. Now my hair looks healthy, shiny, and it actually looks like natural curls.
