I was recommended this product by EverSoGorgeous on a YouTube video. My hair is 3C4A. I used the Medium Brown and haven’t used the Dark brown yet. (Can’t wait) Also Curly Proverbz on YouTube. It really does make my hair feel healthier and luxurious. I was tired of the chemical copper hair color that I used that made my hair so dull. Also coated the gray hairs very well. There is an earthy smell but I also take an herbal powder that taste and smells the same way. If you ever heard of Moringa powder. Haha. Good. Everyone loves my hair. I was turned on by another parent at my kids’ school. I have paid it forward and gotten people at work turned onto it. So much less expensive and so nourishing for the hair. The one downside would be that “earthy” is not a good description of the smell. I smells like cow poop. Just to be clear, it produced a number of gag responses from people in my house. My kids run out of the house when I do it. It’s got a gross smell. Period. No way around it. I scrub my scalp with conditioner after I do it and let it sit awhile. So far, it has not affected color absorption at all. It just looks beautiful and shiny and I can get rid of the smell that way. I have naturally very curly hair. It makes it soft and smooth and shiny and easy to straighten. No complaints. Also, I have noticed I have a lot less split ends.

This bundle was nice to start me out with. I don’t use shampoo normally, so the small bottle will be perfect for future henna applications. It will last a long time. I don’t know that the treatment did anything, but it was GREAT practice. Since it doesn’t stain, you get to learn what not to do without any consequences. What I did like about the treatment is the way it made my hair smell for about 4-5 days. I liked the smell. “Earthy” is a good way to describe it, but it was a sweet and comforting smell. I only smelled it when my hair was wet. Another thing I learned from the packet is that even though I have long hair, one packet was more than enough. I waited a full week to apply the color. I got copper brown and dark brown because I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I tried the copper brown first, and it came out a very dark brown with a hint of copper. Not really red, but copper was a good descriptor I thought. My hair before was dyed nearly black, with about 8 inches of brown root growth. It evened out pretty well. I did spill blobs of it on the floor and on a towel, but it wiped right up off the floor with no stain, and I washed the towel and there are no stains. It also didn’t stain my tub, as many dark dyes do.

This was my first experience with Henna Color Lab and I am very happy with my results. As a matter of fact, I just made a second order with their Valentine’s deal 🙂 It was my first time putting it on myself and it was tricky, but not as tricky as I thought thanks to super clear instructions!
Only downside anytime you henna is the “runoff” of some of the color for the first few days. I would definitely recommend that you cover your pillows with a dark colored towel and wear a dark t-shirt if you go to bed with wet hair.
